51 Pegasi

Uh, now, and part of the reason they got the Nobel Prize was detecting for sure the first exoplanet, but the other part was the type of planet it was basically upended our, our, uh, knowledge or our understanding of how planets form.

So how did they, how did they actually detect it? So this, this, um, planet was around a star, which we call 51 Pegasi.

Uh, now, what, uh, the books say the star is about 50 light-years away.

I'm just wondering if the 51 and the 50 are related somehow.
