3rd Special Forces Group

And so it, it was put in place, uh, many years ago.

Uh, I was a radio operator with 3rd Special Forces Group and 5th Group before that, a Desert Storm veteran.

Got out, uh, got involved in some, uh, in the prepping community with some networks of families.

It occurred to me that there's no standardized communications plan, so w- uh, I developed one, and of course, nobody was l- licensed in this network, so we went with just channel three of, uh, the CB, FRS, and MURS radio systems, which are all the non-licensed bands.

Um, but ultimately what that bred was a lot of hate, anger, resentment, um, this need for vengeance, and that's what we spent, you know, the next four months doing was, was tracking down.

We were working with Third Special Forces Group, and I'll never forget one of their, one of their sergeant majors came over to us, you know, and, and we're pr- in pretty bad shape, you know, emotionally.

And he just, you know, he, he, he grabbed me in this bear hug and he, and he just whispers in my ear and he's like, "Hey man, we're gonna find every single one of these expletives that we can and we're gonna put them in the ground." And that became our mission and, and we were pretty successful at it.

But I'll say it turned me into a person that I didn't wanna be.

So he spent 12 years in the United States Army, with seven of those years being in the 3rd Special Forces, top of the line, group at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

He has combat deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan, and during his career at the 3rd Special Forces Group, really the elite, these are the best, he worked on a Special Forces operator and as an operator at the sniper detachment and as a sniper instructor.

He is a phenomenal world-class marksman and shot.

His military school experience includes special operations to-

Absolutely.

So as a bit of background, I actually was serving in 3rd Special Forces Group with Mike Sullivan.

Um, in 2008 and 2009, I was the intelligence officer for our task force.

He was, uh, a Green Beret company commander, and we were deployed together in Afghanistan.

And while I was there, a couple things happened.

One is that I was observing, through this nascent platform called Facebook, some of the soldiers that I had served with and deployed with who had ETS and gone back home to Brownsville, Texas, or, you know, up in Minnesota or wherever they h- had returned to, and I noticed that a lot of them were struggling.

Uh, and the second part is that, um, you know, I realized that, um, you know, my fitness, uh, uh, it was, it was a challenge, you know, in the sense that, well, while I was in 1st, uh, Cavalry Division and 3rd Special Forces Group, like, there was a lot of pressure to perform and to stay fit and all that.

And when I essentially left active duty for th- that two-year period, uh, it became clear to me how challenging it would be, you know, to, to have the personal discipline to stay on top of it like I had been for the past, you know, seven or eight years.

Okay.

Maybe this is just either a misunderstanding or historical context I have wrong, but did at some point the Third Special Forces Group also cover the Caribbean?

I was in the Army in communications.

I was a radio operator with 5th Special Forces Group and then with 3rd Special Forces Group, and I went to Desert Storm with 3rd Group.

And radio is something that I had left behind.
