3rd Battalion, 1st Marines

That was the two deployments, the first one with Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 9th Marines.

And then I went to the Gulf for Desert Storm with Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines.

And

so you go to California.

And then after that, got selected for infantry and ended up going to the infantry officer's course to get trained for that.

And then upon graduation, I was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment out at Camp Pendleton, California.

That was my first duty station as a 2nd Lieutenant.

And it's like a nightmare for me.

I see my junior Marines, 3/1, uh, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, the Thundering Third, just, uh, stomping through Fallujah, the big push, uh, Operation Phantom Fury.

Oh, man.

And here it is.

And then, hey, by the time that six months is over, you know, I go to logistics officer course down at Camp Lejeune.

And then next thing you know, I'm at Camp Pendleton with my unit, with 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines out of Camp Pendleton.

And then deploy in, you know, Let's see, I got there in November, we deployed in June of 04, and then by, you know, I'd run some civilian support operations in the area, civilian security operations in the area near like where that Abu Ghraib prison was, right?
