Oh, right.

Which is called 25th Hour.

It's essentially about a drug dealer who's going to prison.

Spike Lee.

And I'd say it is a good movie.

I'd highly recommend that one, actually.

Anthony Mahoney and 25th Hour.

And what year was that? Yeah, 25th Hour was great.

And then that is the thing that's supposed to kind of carry you through.

It's almost like this movie is about pedophilia in the way that 25th Hour is about 9-11.

Yeah, that's a good way of putting that.

Yeah.

Okay, so the movie, if we were to look at the origins of the film, research would indicate it starts and ends with writer David Benioff, the, um, co-showrunner of Game of Thrones, uh, eventually.

But this was his second film after The 25th Hour, the Spike Lee movie with Edward Norton-

... based off his own book.

I will always be envious of you, Will, that you were able to see this live, uh, stage show, but I gotta say the film, um, I, I feel less sad about not seeing it, uh, uh, in the actual legitimate theater.

This is, um, my favorite Spike Lee film of the 21st century, and yes, that includes 25th Hour, which I know a lot of people love, and I like it a lot as well, but this is my favorite film that Spike Lee has done this century, and I think it speaks to something that he has done, uh, really well, and I don't think he gets enough credit for, which is he is a hell of a concert filmmaker.

We talked about Passing Strange, uh, as a reboot.

That's not technically a concert film, but it is a filmed production of a theater musical, and that is incredible.

But first, let's just hit some of these highlights.

If you watch like 25th Hour, one of the most important and best movies sort of about this period in Manhattan, 35,000 people lived in lower Manhattan.

And since 2000, the population has doubled down here.

Over 70,000 people live in lower Manhattan.

On YouTube, one version of it has four point three million views and a clear spike in replays at the pivotal moment.

There is art explicitly about nine eleven, music like Bruce Springsteen's The Rising or the Beastie Boys' An Open Letter to NYC, and films like Twenty-Fifth Hour, but the attacks also produced countless less direct acknowledgments.
