2027 Africa Cup of Nations

The Confederation of African Football has picked two African agencies to sell free-to-air rights to the next Africa Cup of Nations.

Media Experts Limited and MBS will sell free-to-air coverage of AFCON 2027 across sub-Saharan Africa.

That includes the three host countries, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

plus two of the continent's biggest football markets, Nigeria and South Africa.

Having a player and a coach as backers tells potential customers in a new market that people who actually work in the sport believe in the product.

So, to recap, Monday's World Series Game 3, a 10-to-1 Brewers blowout, averaged about 8.3 million viewers and will rank no better than the second least watched World Series game on record, even as early numbers put Game 4 at 13.5 million.

CAF handed AFCON 2027 free-to-air sales in sub-Saharan Africa to Media Experts Limited and MBS with Canal Plus keeping pay TV.

Arena Sabalenka topped SportsPro's 50 Most Marketable Athletes list.

East Africa community countries have been directed to accelerate work on original single tourist visa as the bloc prepares to use the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, AFKON, to attract more international visitors.

The proposed visa is among five priority areas identified by ministers alongside joint tourism marketing, harmonized hotel classification standards, improved tourism statistics, and cross-border conservation.

The push comes as the region prepares for AFCON 2027, scheduled for June 19th to July 17th, when East Africa will host one of the continent's biggest sporting events.

The tournament is expected to generate demand for accommodation, transport, hospitality and tourism services while providing an opportunity to market the region's attractions to a global audience.
