Their singular goal was to aggressively oppose and defeat Proposition 37 in California.

Prop 37 was a grassroots citizens initiative that, if passed, would have legally mandated the clear, explicit labeling of any foods or beverages sold in the state that contained genetically modified ingredients, commonly known as GMOs.

Why does Coca-Cola care enough about a California labeling law to drop nearly two million dollars to fight it?

There-- You'll notice there's one, uh, for which I have, uh, remained neutral.

That might change, uh, but that's Proposition 37.

Otherwise, uh, my endorsements are all there.

And, uh, obviously, we know that, um, the taking liberties, I guess, with the precise speech, uh, is acceptable in political campaigns, but I don't think it's ever acceptable.
