2 Peter 3

Amen.

All right, so 2 Peter 3.

How many of you are glad you are coming back for the evening service? Yeah.

That shows how serious you are as a Christian.

Ha.

Okay, 2 Peter 3:9.

If I preach this in the midst of people, people-

The Spirit of God will talk to you while you're reading His Word.

So, we're going to 2 Peter 3.

I wanna read the first nine verses, and then I want us all together to read down through 14.

Are you ready? Ready.

This really is going to be the place where you come to grow because it's where thoughtful people come to grow.

Now I've based this on 2 Peter 3, verse 18, which says, grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

And then it ends with a praise, which is what we want our lives to end with too, right? To him be the glory now and forever.

Amen.

Yes and amen.

Tonight we'll be proving through scripture the integrity of God's word.

We are going to be proving the integrity of God's word through scriptures.

We read one already.

2 Corinthians 1:20, I'd like us to look at it from, we already read KJV.

Let's try Amplified.

The Amplified puts a beautiful rendition of this scripture.

It says, "For as many as are the promises of God, they are all in their yes answer in Him," that's in Christ.

All righty.

Uh, 2 Peter 3:10 through 13.

"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with a fervent heat.

Both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

He will help you to see the details and wonders in His creation and the truths of His word and the depths of His great love for you.

Here is my prayer for you today from 2 Peter 3:18: "But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Glory be to Him now and forever.

Amen." [upbeat music] It's time to answer a question from one of our listeners.

The Bible says in 2 Peter 3 and verse 12, 2 Peter 3 and verse 12, it says, "Looking forward to..." Is that in your Bible? I just needed to show you that the coming of Christ is not just dependent on His will or desire alone.

There is a protocol to His coming.

Apostle Peter, who was mentored by Jesus directly, he said, "Looking forward and hastening unto the coming of the day of the Lord."

Now that's a passage you might be familiar with.

It's from 2 Peter 3.

And it's an interesting one because really that passage there is pretty much the only reason why we have 2 Peter in our New Testaments.

The rest of it isn't that useful necessarily.
