Zazzle

Zazzle is a marketplace of custom products created by designers selling their art and makers showcasing their customizable products. Launched in 2005 and based in Menlo Park, California, Zazzle has grown from a Silicon Valley startup to an international brand with multiple offices and manufacturing facilities. Zazzle’s mission is to give people the power to make anything imaginable, and proprietary technology enables individuals and professional artists to see exactly how the final product will appear before the product is even made. Major brands including Disney and Warner Bros. offer billions of unique products for customers worldwide. At Zazzle, we believe that everything we do is an expression of love because life’s special moments deserve more than off-the-shelf products.www.zazzle.com

It is.
Christy MaxwellGUEST

But I don't know if you know, like, things like Pay & For, like, Plana, Zazzle, Afterpay.
Christy MaxwellGUEST
9:32
So I basically started in finance when Pay In For was taking the market and they basically come up overnight, right? So I was working in a really fun time in finance, but it was really boring because my job at this finance company was to basically take their core lending product, which is long-term, like paying overtime over like 60 months.
Christy MaxwellGUEST
9:53
And how do we condense this into an app where you can pay in for? So it was kind of cool because I seen Pay In For take over, but it was like, Just a really boring freaking job, to be honest with you.

So you have creative business owners that are purely just looking to license.
Mandy CorcoranGUEST
27:27
And then, and maybe like Spoonflower, if there's seamless patterns or print on demand shop, like a Redbubble or Zazzle or something like that, Society6.
Mandy CorcoranGUEST
27:36
And then you've got the, the creative business owners that are hand making items.
Mandy CorcoranGUEST
27:42
maybe on etsy or have a shopify shop but it's not all somebody else printing the product they're actually hand making it so i tend to have those two types of students in my classes and there's so many things that can help with that so one of the first things i teach people who are just trying to do art licensing is have claude or whatever ai you're using have it help you with a pitching schedule have it help you, you can link it actually to Excel.

I just had another idea.
Gareth ReynoldsHOST
53:33
Zazzle.
Ravi PatelGUEST
53:33
I just had, I just had another idea for the logo.
Ravi PatelGUEST
53:37
It's the town, and then, uh, like a bat signal above it, but instead of a bat, it's a silhouette of Robbie.
Victoria MorganGUEST

I find out because I had broken into his email that the invitations were not $1,200.
Victoria MorganGUEST
46:51
They were $226 from Zazzle, I guess the invitation website.
Victoria MorganGUEST
46:56
So I confronted him on it.
Victoria MorganGUEST
46:58
But of course he gaslit me and then blame shifted me.
Victoria MorganGUEST
47:22
He said the invitations he had to.
Victoria MorganGUEST
47:25
Meanwhile, they were locked in the trunk of his car because he kept telling me they never came.
Victoria MorganGUEST
47:28
Meanwhile, according to Zazzle, they were delivered two months prior.
Victoria MorganGUEST
47:32
So they were probably locked in the trunk of his car because.
John KeatingHOST

Well, I mean, and I had ties of you, too, and I mean, and they were, I mean, at, at, you know, you send off the pictures, and they send you back the tie from Etsy or wherever it is.
John KeatingHOST
45:18
Zazzle, I think, was a, was a site.

Um-

Ethan DeckerHOST
25:29
Hi, T.
Ethan DeckerHOST
25:30
So she, uh, she struggles because she competes in a way with CafePress and Zazzle and Printful.
Gee RanasinhaGUEST
25:38
Right.
Ethan DeckerHOST
25:39
Right?
Gee RanasinhaGUEST
25:39
Okay.
Ethan DeckerHOST
25:40
And, and so one of the strategies we talked about was she can't compete head-to-head by being the, you know, Zazzle because Za- or Printful because they have so many oper- op- options and serve so many people.
Ethan DeckerHOST
25:55
But what if she were to radically narrow her audience and maybe even some of her offerings to focus on one place where she can become the big fish in a small pond, and become famous there, and then get word of mouth, and then become known for uniquely, uh, relating to or understanding a smaller market, even though that smaller market would still be massive for her? And-
Gee RanasinhaGUEST
26:24
And I think that's the point.
