OK, third question is if they found a similar Winchester round in R.A.'s gun when they acquired it, why didn't they just compare that round to the crime scene round, especially if the same manufacturer and case type? I'm not sure, but I would suspect nickel plated and brass cases have slightly different hardnesses and would produce different results, especially under the microscopic level.
