WESCO International

WESCO International

Wesco can be traced back to the late 1800s but was officially founded in 1922, acting as the distribution arm of Westinghouse Electric. Throughout the 1900s, Wesco entered and subsequently exited the consumer electronics, transit, bottling, and nuclear plant distribution markets. It was sold to a private equity firm in 1994 and then went public in 1999, and numerous acquisitions have since been made to fill the gaps in Wesco's geographical and product coverage. Today, the firm primarily distributes electrical, networking, security, and utility equipment used in the construction and repair of structures such as offices, data centers, power transmission lines, and manufacturing plants. Wesco has operations around the globe but generates the majority of its revenue in the United States.www.wesco.com

Jim LucyHOST

If you've been following the surge in contractor stock price over the past several years, you won't be surprised to find two very familiar names at the top of the list.
Jim LucyHOST
14:46
They're active participants in two of the major trends now driving much of the growth in the electrical construction scene right now.
Jim LucyHOST
14:52
We've got the still explosive growth of data centers and their revitalization and expansion of the electrical grid.
Jim LucyHOST
14:58
Envent, Quanta, Vertiv, Atcor, Generac, Wesco, GE, Vernova, Eaton, ABB, Emcor, and Schneider all made the cut as elicits some of the fastest growing electrical stocks here.
Jim LucyHOST
15:11
And if you look at their product portfolios and some of their public statements over the past few months and past years for sure, you can see that the increase in their business very tied directly to grid data centers, some other large mega projects, and in many cases the revitalization and expansion of the electrical grid.
Kevin BrownHOST
51:24
Mm-hmm.
David GordonGUEST
51:25
You know, if, if you're a WESCO...
David GordonGUEST
51:29
Let's, let's not use WESCO, let's use the, uh, Rexel.
David GordonGUEST
51:32
And 40% of their business is here in the US, so they're doing about $8, $9 billion.
David GordonGUEST
51:39
So Acuity's gonna figure out how much of my $45 million is gonna tie to Rexel.
Ian HellerHOST
25:16
You've got too many big, well-capitalized players.
Ian HellerHOST
25:18
In addition to the two that I named, you've got Graybar and Wesco and some other big U.S. players.
Ian HellerHOST
25:24
And it's just an industry that's getting consolidated.
Ian HellerHOST
25:27
It's also a more organized industry in terms of data.

Prysmian, Rio Tinto, and Amazon say the project represents the first known use of aluminum produced through inert anode smelting in a data center.
speaker_0HOST
0:36
Prysmian will manufacture the finished electrical cables at its Sedalia, Missouri facility, while WESCO will support distribution to the project.
speaker_0HOST
0:46
The installation is relatively narrow in scope, but the procurement question behind it is much bigger.
speaker_0HOST
0:52
As hyperscale data center operators expand cloud and AI infrastructure, emissions tied to construction materials, equipment, and supply chains are becoming harder to separate from corporate decarbonization targets.
speaker_0HOST
2:23
Meeting targets of that kind requires operators to address emissions outside their direct operational control, including purchased goods, equipment, and construction.
speaker_0HOST
2:34
The Ohio project also shows how many companies have to coordinate before a lower carbon material can make it onto a data center site.
speaker_0HOST
2:42
Rio Tinto supplies the aluminum, Prysmian turns it into electrical cable, WESCO supports distribution, and Amazon provides the end market demand.

Each stage has its own requirements around cost, specifications, availability, and logistics.
Morgan ThomasHOST

Morgan ThomasHOST

Wesco and Moore got involved more.
Morgan ThomasHOST
27:33
Benton Kerr and Pat Henry got involved more.
Morgan ThomasHOST
27:36
They're spreading the field out in a way to help the team overall, forcing the defense to account for everyone across the board, including the quarterback.

Julian CouncilHOST
19:20
He was eight of a 22 for 65 yards and an interception.
Julian CouncilHOST
19:23
Now juxtapose that to what, what Tate Reynolds did in the second half after that interception, where he's got Wesco wide ass open, throw it to the left, throw it on target.
Julian CouncilHOST
19:32
That's an easy touchdown.
Julian CouncilHOST
19:33
After that, he was seven for seven for 115 yards and a touchdown.
David PollackHOST
60:26
I saw some of that, but I also saw some rhythm, timing, passing game.
David PollackHOST
60:30
The one to Wesco, the slant was really good.
David PollackHOST
60:32
I think you need to continue to see more of that, but I thought they were more creative with the run, too, and got ways to get it going a little bit.
David PollackHOST
60:40
It was good to see Clemson get that offense going, for sure.
Scott BogmanHOST
35:21
I can't remember.
Seth WoolcockHOST
35:21
How about it? Uh, Boggs, and, and speaking of blending together, it feels like Bryant Wesco Jr.
Seth WoolcockHOST
35:27
right now coming out of Clemson is just blending i- in with the, the fold, man, because this is one of those Antonio Williams types of falloffs in his final collegiate season, potentially, at Clemson, right? He has just eight receptions, 64 yards, being outproduced by his counterpart, TJ Moore, and th- this is just really disappointing.
Seth WoolcockHOST
35:43
Like, I know the quarterback situation has been God awful, whether it's been the true freshman Reynolds or Vienza, uh, under center, but still, like, they were in a super negative game script the entire time, and a ton of time for garbage time against LSU.
Seth WoolcockHOST
35:56
And then played Georgia Southern in week two, and the Tigers only put up 22 points.
Seth WoolcockHOST
36:00
We're sounding the alarm bells on Dabo Sweeney.
Seth WoolcockHOST
36:02
Are you sounding the alarm bells on his wide receiver one in Bryant Wesco?
Scott BogmanHOST
36:06
[clicks tongue] Yeah, I mean, currently a top 100 player at 65 on, uh, Mike Trout-
Mark BrohanHOST
61:12
Well, I mean, my takeaway is I strongly agree.
Mark BrohanHOST
61:15
And because this is the trend here, which is Home Depot lows, core and main, it doesn't matter, Wesco, on down the line, all these guys across these different verticals are looking at that pro market and this whole data center build-out thing, you know, and they're staking their growth on that.
Mark BrohanHOST
61:35
So I agree with that.
Mark BrohanHOST
61:37
And that concludes lightning round.
