It seems to me that the failure of awareness alone to move the needle with coders and developers, evidenced by the appalling statistics from the WebAIM report that 96% of websites and the other source Joe mentioned, that 70% of mobile apps are poor or failing to provide an accessible experience, mean that the message simply isn't reaching the people who create the interfaces we interact with.

If the solution is that each of us must now be responsible for dismantling our own accessibility barriers by vibe coding individual solutions, we are still left with the disadvantage of having to spend time, energy, and resources to break barriers that others are not troubled by.

Does the financial services sector have an accessibility issue?

And that's kind of a real surprise.

Just looking at going back to WebAIM again in the report, what always surprises me is that the homepages and websites are getting more and more complicated.
R

So since last year, page elements has increased significantly.

on average by 22% again from like 2025.

Well, there's a couple more.
R

I think color contrast is the other big one.
R
26:19RussPANELIST
And if you're talking about WebAIM again, it's the number one problem that they find across all of those homepages.
R
26:28RussPANELIST
It's potentially a bit of a gray area because if you're just under the ratio, was it four to five to one or something for AA, I think, I'll have to check.
