These guys just don't exist anymore.

But one thing I want to say about Spencer Jones and why I think he's getting all this hate is because I think everyone saw him play it when they saw he played at Vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt is looked at as basically playing in low A ball

at the

collegiate level.

I'm not going to – poo-pooing on Jones at all.

He is the type of guy that there's peaks and valleys with Jones.

You got to remember, he originally went to Vanderbilt as thought of as a two-way player, but he was going to be a pitcher and he blew out his elbow.

From student recruitment to institutional collaborations over sensitive technologies, American universities will have to think more patriotically or risk massive reputational damage and less federal funding.

Second, as more elite private colleges and universities like Harvard, Yale, and Vanderbilt promote greater intellectual diversity, and more high-profile public universities establish institutes to study and teach the values of the American founding, more moderate and conservative young people will enter the academy and play a larger role in campus life.

Demand from a changing student population will be the third factor driving change.

It's not just that ambitious, talented students will want transcripts that appeal to recruiters looking for evidence that future employees understand and value what makes America special.

And I just joined.

I'm brand new faculty at Vanderbilt's

Wow, that's amazing.

Like there are universities.

I know Vanderbilt university puts out a lot of resources that are available for parents.

Um, they put out YouTube videos that are, um, go into detail about different types of toilet training, different types of communication trials, how to set up different types of environmental arrangements to maybe help your child learn to communicate if you are waiting on services, more simple things that can be done at home easily.

So there are a lot of universities and researchers and labs that put out some of those videos too that families can watch and even refer back to to know what are some things they could do immediately.

So no, I'm going to say no on all those cases.

Vanderbilt even making the change to Curtis.

I'm not going to overreact over two games.

That's why we had discussion today about Tennessee football.

It's a little bit better, but I'm not going to go too overboard about their performance.

I mean, the fact that Vanderbilt just now made that move to Curtis, like, what are you doing? Delaware and whatever the other team.

Now you've got to play NC State? I mean, that was horrible coaching decisions there by Barkley.

I leave Texas because Texas will be just fine.

I'm sure he didn't love what he saw.

But coming up next, speaking of quarterbacks, Vanderbilt has made its decision.

Jared Curtis will start on Saturday against NC State.

We'll discuss that coming up next.

Jesse, just in terms of some of the new quarterbacks, we heard Jarrett Curtis starting now at Vanderbilt.

We have, obviously, the Florida situation, Tennessee.

I can go through a list of them.

Who stood out to you, and not so much in stats, because sometimes against weaker opposition, although Tennessee did play a legitimate team on the road, what is your takeaway from some of these young guys, especially?

Well, I think Vanderbilt going to Curtis was probably a move that I think a lot of folks thought was going to happen in August, and for whatever reason, Clark Lee opted to go with a veteran, more safer option, and he's pivoted and changed that tune after just two games because the offensive production wasn't there.

I think I'm most intrigued, though, Paul, by the kind of boom or bust potential of Keelan Russell at Alabama.
