over the years no motive has remained a cult favorite among fans of the late 90s and early 2000s punk and emo scenes so i've been trying to get roger on this thing for four years now which we discussed in the very beginning this was a band that i remember being on vagrant comps and just hearing this name all the time back in the day but i never got like the full story so as i do i reached out to roger i got him on the zoom and that's what we chat about him being a huge No Motive fan before joining the band, Ventura California Warped Tour, Vagrant Records, the first tour with Good Riddance, what did Vagrant blowing up do for the band, did the band ever break up, being in Not Another Teen Movie, Warped Tour, Siren Records, the chaos of the Ignorance is Bliss tour, and a ton more.

Vagrant Records is the story of turning in punk infrastructure into a commercial engine, picking up pop punk bands like Green Day, but also more melodic acts like Dashboard Confessional and Saves the Day, showing that independent touring networks can scale into mainstream territory if you keep the community vibe intact.

Hopeless Records, which started with punk and pop-punk in the mid-90s, shows how an indie label can evolve into a multi-genre powerhouse by embracing digital distribution, streaming, and social media while still maintaining physical releases for collectors.

Then there's Asian Man Records, a tiny operation that never let growth compromise its DIY integrity.
