Yes, you're right that I did a informatics fellowship.

I Before I came to Parkview, I had done my clinical informatics fellowship at University of Washington in Seattle.

And so I joined Parkview

after that.

So I ended up actually going to the Ohio State University for a year.

And I did a one-year internship, and then I applied the following year, and I got into residency at UW.

So I ended up doing my four-year program at UW.

Following that, I ended up going back to Ohio to teach.

But anyway, I did a big loop to complete my training.

So yeah, you did that.

And a little fun fact, and I mentioned it to you before, I never met you during that time, but I was a dental student at Tufts in the 90s.

And I did an externship at UW, University of Washington.

And then whenever I have credentials, I'm going to have all come back to Chicago and That was the way it played out.

In the summer of 1972, after I had graduated from the University of Washington with a good academic record but a pretty much useless degree in anthropology, I was trying to figure out what to do, and I hitchhiked back from Seattle, stopped in Chicago for a while, and then rendezvoused in Ann Arbor at the Ann Arbor Blues and Jazz Festival with a couple of friends of mine from Seattle, a married couple who are both librarians.

And on our ride back home, we basically figured out my life.

And what they told me was, hey, the state library would probably love to have somebody like you.

I happened to be passing through Chicago in a good time to interview for that scholarship.

And it came through.

So I went to library school at the University of Washington and When it was over, I had a job in Illinois, which turned out to be in the western Chicago suburbs.

And by that time, I already had a lot of friends in Chicago from my freshman year.

A year later, Sam published his first book.

Soon after, he began teaching as an anthropology professor for the University of Washington.

Sam was only one month into his new position when he went on a 17-mile overnight hike at Mount Rainier and seemingly just disappeared.

Sam was an avid hiker who had made trips around the US and even had experience in the Himalayas.

Our deepest gratitude to all, including the brave searchers and the community.

Sam was presumed to have passed away, and the grieving process began for many, many people.

On the one-year anniversary of Sam's disappearance, faculty and students from across the University of Washington campus gathered at the school's Drumheller Fountain in commemoration.

Assistant Professor of Anthropology Rafael Rabanes' colleague, a close friend of Sam's, said he wanted to use the tools of anthropology to address questions of racism and build an anti-racist society and world.

Maybe Fullerton's going to be the best team in the Big West, but even still, you can't give up 96 to a team like that and lose by 18.

Washington State beating UW means that Boise State and Wazoo have both taken care of UW.

Wazoo got this win on the road.

Harrison looks great.

But, yeah, the primary takeaway here is that UW is potentially very, very, very bad.

Colorado State got smoked by San Diego.

San Diego new head coach, J.R. Blunt, coming over from Iowa State.

But they flew out on air blank.

They were supposed to have Penix work out at Dempsey Indoor, the indoor facility at UW.

But it was being used.

So Penix had to use Husky Stadium instead.

If you go back to the first ACL, he had Indiana top ten in the country.

That was their highest ranking in five decades.

He then goes to UW, takes them to the National Championship against Michigan, finishes second in the Heisman, and then ultimately gets drafted in the top 10 to the Falcons.

Penix now comes off the third ACL, and this really speaks to his fortitude emotionally, mentally, psychologically, aside from all the physical stuff, because it's very hard to come back from multiple knee surgeries and to be able to trust it.

What is wrong with the offense right now?

Yeah, I mean, I think it is a little bit of what we're seeing with a bunch of the coastal teams playing in the Big Ten, University of Washington, the same way when they match with these heavyweights and these blue-blooded line of scrimmage programs.

Wisconsin, not a blue blood like Ohio State and Penn State and Michigan, but from the line of scrimmage standpoint, Lance, they are.

I mean, that's what they've been done, been developed there for 30, 40 years.

What is wrong with the offense right now?

What stood out to you most in the many bits of data that you sifted through when it comes to black students in Oregon?

I'm really worried, not just as a researcher, but as someone who used to teach freshmen at University of Washington about our students' ability to do basic math and reading and writing.

By the time our students get to high school, only 8% of black students are considered proficient at math compared to 25% of white students.

I think that that's an enormous failure.
