So John's mentioned Tom Avini's work.

There's kind of a peer, a partner study to that done by Paul Taylor at the University of Colorado, Denver.

And it just, both of them talk a lot about ready positions and getting the gun out of your face.

And the more you can see, about the individual or individuals you're dealing with, the better the decision making you're going to get, right? So we have done some work with that about ready positions and decision making.

At one point in time, I thought I was going to be a transplant surgeon.

I actually thought that that's where I was going with it um I was like maybe I'll do med peds like I just loved everything and the way I pulled that together was that well I guess I just really love medicine and I'm really curious about it and so maybe that means that I should be in internal medicine that's what we call like sort of the foundation of of medicine um And so I applied for that and I went to the University of Colorado Denver for my internal medicine residency.

Um, and there, you know, you're kind of in between primary care clinics, but also doing, you know, uh, hospital rotations.

Um, sometimes you're in the ICU, um, and we worked out of, I think, five different hospital systems there, which was really cool to be able to see just so many different, um, um, systems that influence, you know, or different ways that, uh, systems are set up for practicing medicine, um, and sort of the services that are available.

And so I remember asking my boss at the time, and I said, I'd really like to go back for a doctorate.

And I've been doing some research and CU Denver has one for educational equity.

And it talks really about disparate systems at universities.

And what does that look like? And then executive leadership and higher education.

And recently, as in this summer, I was involved in a project at...

University of Colorado Denver where we were each each person involved in this project was investigating how AI is being used in our discipline spoiler alert in psychology it's an enormous it's enormous number of ways and some of these ways could lead to huge um huge amounts of knowledge that we have not been able to crack, like modeling brains and things like that.

Because if you're doing brains and you're looking at neuroscience studies, you'll see that there's typically an N of about, you know, 10 on a good study because brains are not that cheap and easy to come by.

But if you can model things...

that kind of thing starts with like when you get into system designs and that starts like junior senior year of engineering freshman and sophomore the 101s and 201s are in my case 1001s and 2001s CU Denver was a CU Denver is yeah those are all like here are the fundamentals here's the math here's so much math you want to cry this is how we get you out of engineering as we just throw math in your face If you can handle that, we'll move on to the fun stuff.
