We're gonna have a look at, in the wake of Liverpool's, uh, massive new front of shirt deal with Turkish Airlines.

We're gonna take a look at the, um, sponsorship situation within Premier League football and how some of the other teams have fared now that gambling companies-

But I was thinking about the shirt sponsorship deal, and something dawned on me last night that's never really dawned on me before.

So Liverpool are about to go into a deal with Turkish Airlines that will see Liverpool get somewhere between 60 and 70 million pound a year, depending on what you read and who, you know, minimum 60, maybe 70.

Think about this, right? So Turkish Airlines on the front of Liverpool's kit, they're paying over a million quid a week.

I can't get my head around this.

A million quid, more than a million quid every week for five years to be on the front of a shirt.

I can't see how anybody can get value with a Turkish Airline spending a billi- or a, a million quid plus a week.

I don't see how they get value from that.

Not just Turkish Airlines and Liverpool, I mean anybody at that level that's on the front of a shirt.

We've only got a couple of minutes left, so I can't really go to the lads on this, but I just wanna have a quick bit about the jersey and sleeve sponsorship situation.

So Turkish Airlines is gonna be Liverpool's new front-of-shirt sponsor next season, somewhere between £60 and 70 million, depending on where you read and who you're listening to.

Um, I just gotta put it out there, I find it a bit mad that, like, one, an airline or a company like that are willing to pay over a million quid a week to be on the front of a shirt.

How come?

Like, yes, of course it's a premium spot and you are in front of many, many eyes on there.

But nobody's going, "Oh, Jesus, he started talking about it.

That reminds me, I must book a business class flight with Turkish Airlines somewhere." I, I...

It blows my mind, lads, that it's a million quid a week plus to be on the front of a shirt.

what you mean by that is, for example, you might read, so Liverpool have just literally the last few days done a sponsorship deal.

It's supposed to be worth £60 million a year, but that is the fee that they're receiving from Turkish Airlines.

No one then does the work to spit out the number at the other end that Turkish Airlines.

What, if

anything, is the incrementality of people buying more flights or engaging with different touch points around the Turkish Airlines business? Exactly that.

We've tried to quantify that and that phenomenon.

across all the spaces in which fandom manifests as behaviour.

The gap can never be closed, even though we are showing growth in our income, so are other teams.

And yes, we've got more more ways to expand that but at the same time if we can't match the sort of figures that they're getting we're always going to be stuck with it and that's the frustrating part for me and it does suck out the fun of the game and it's not just us Newcastle supporters saying it it's football supporters up and down the land and across around the globe all saying the same thing if you've got a level playing field fair enough be the best but if you're restricted it's not allowing Liverpool to have that and we need to be careful because Turkish Airlines are willing to give them that money.

But I know Mitch and myself and Steve Hastie have alluded to many times over the last few months, Riyadh Air were very, very strongly reported to be giving us a similar deal and it was rejected.

So tell me how that's fair.

So here's the full list, and I'll list them for you.

I got Aeromexico, Air Canada, Cathay Pacific, Copa Airlines, Etihad Guest, Finnair, Flying Blue, Frontier, Hainan Airlines, Japan Airlines, Air India, Lufthansa, Qantas Qatar, SAS Eurobonus, Thai Airways, Turkish Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, Virgin Atlantic and a core live limitless only a single hotel partner here So that's a lot of airlines and like I said some largest list out there And so here's kind of the more shorter highlight list for me that I'm really paying attention to specifically with my rove miles first off is frontier which I know kind of a weird one, but it is unique and And you can get some good deals on flights to the Caribbean particularly, like this flight from Chicago to Cancun, which starts at 7,500 miles one way and $64 in taxes and fees on the way there, which if you were to pay cash for this would cost $220 otherwise.

But just remember, Frontier does make you pay more in miles or in cash, depending on how you're booking, for more perks, like even bringing a carry-on on board.

And so just be sure to pay attention to that.

Travelers flying between Singapore and Sydney will have another airline option from early next year.

Egypt Air is set to become the sixth carrier serving the route, joining Singapore Airlines, Scoot, Qantas, British Airways and Turkish Airlines.

The airline will fly from Cairo to Singapore before continuing on to Sydney, picking up passengers here for the onward journey.

There are currently 67 flights a week between Singapore and Sydney.
