There's still 6,000 people without power.

And Toronto Hydro is hustling.

But they've got about 59,000 residents of 65,000 back online.

There were so many outages at the peak of Wednesday night's downpour.

So remarkable job.

I don't think we say it enough about the people that do this stuff, whether it's Toronto Fire Services or Toronto Hydro.

The workers as well got the Don Valley.

I thought the Don Valley Parkway was closed a little bit too long.

With crews struggling to deal with the aftermath of a storm for the history books.

Toronto Hydro says at one point there were 65,000 people without power.

At 4.20, which is when they did their last update, they said there were 5,300 people who are still without power.

And they're asking everyone to be as patient as possible because they are working as quickly as they can.

But, you know, we too have issues that we have to try to deal with.

As Toronto Hydro works through hundreds of reports, the utility's message, treat every power line like it's live and stay back.

We still have a large number of event volume and I expect we will as we continue to work through it over the next little while.

Enough rain fell for the city's manager to classify it as a 100-year storm.

There were impacts across the city.

At one point, Toronto Hydro reported 65,000 customers were without power.

The TTC had to detour or outright shut down service on multiple service-level routes.

Union Station also experienced flooding.

Fortunately, there was not a car driving by or I think they would have been killed.

On Wednesday evening, Toronto Hydro initially said 65,000 customers were without power.

Most of the affected customers were in Etobicoke, North York, Midtown, or East York, and the company said crews were working as quickly and safely as possible to restore power.

By press time, 45,000 customers were without power.

Given the scale of the storm and the number of outages, restoration efforts may take time and vary by location, Toronto Hydro said.

Toronto Police said they responded to multiple reports of fallen trees and downed power lines across the city.

Outside the city, there were reports of damaged buildings, including a destroyed roof in Brampton.

Toronto experienced widespread disruption as the storm moved across the city, leaving tens of thousands of customers without electricity.

Toronto Hydro reported outages affecting roughly 65,000 customers at the peak, while crews responded to damaged electrical equipment, fallen trees, and downed wires.

Some neighborhoods remained without power as restoration work continued, showing how quickly the combination of wind and rain overwhelmed parts of the city's infrastructure.

Flooding became one of the storm's most visible consequences, turning important Toronto roads into dangerous stretches of water.

An awful lot of people, including me, were blacked out yesterday by the storm.

And Toronto Hydro continues or Hydro One and Toronto Hydro continue to try and reconnect everybody.
