Yeah.
Justin LopasGUEST
16:18
And I was at SpaceX, Baker Hughes, Timken and Apple.
Justin LopasGUEST
16:22
timkin is a big automotive supplier is in ohio baker hughes is a big oil and gas services company those two i would categorize as not tech big slow boring and yeah i mean not to be rude to people that work there just like not a good place for me to work but it did not fit my my personality or desires and then spacex and apple while very different companies doing very different things apple is big i was working on a I can't say this publicly, but it was working on a secret project that never ended up going anywhere that was oriented towards what I was interested in at the time.
Justin LopasGUEST
16:56
And I was like, okay, this is cool.
Justin LopasGUEST
17:05
And then I would say the same thing with SpaceX.
Justin LopasGUEST
17:06
And so that's why I chose to Those were the two companies I was looking at when I graduated.
Justin LopasGUEST
17:09
It's like probably not Timken, definitely not Baker Hughes, Rocket Mortgage, Quicken Loans doesn't really make sense.
Justin LopasGUEST
17:15
And so, but I was very fortunate to have had a bunch of these internships to look at the cultures of the companies and then also the like disciplines.
Chris SwitzerHOST
55:47
We were thinking about selling it, but now I think that we're probably going to keep it.
Ray GuarinoHOST
55:52
Yeah, I had always sworn by Timken, and then I had the issue.
Ray GuarinoHOST
55:56
But I think the issue I had was with tapered bearing sets, not sealed bearing sets.
Ray GuarinoHOST
56:03
So you'll see.
LilaHOST
49:16
Oh, that data center?
Eric WolinHOST
49:17
Yeah, that data center they're putting in right across from the old Timken place.
Eric WolinHOST
49:21
Just for the exterior, look at how many brick retaining walls they built.
Eric WolinHOST
49:27
And look at all the masonry work.
LilaHOST
49:17
Yeah.
Eric WolvinHOST
49:17

That's taking tradesmen out.

But the numbers that truly prove its extreme pressure capabilities are the load tests.
speaker_1HOST
14:10
If we look at the D2509 Timken OK load, it scores a 60 pound rating.
speaker_0HOST
14:15
Wow.
speaker_0HOST
14:16
60 pounds.
speaker_0HOST
14:17
For context, the Timken test involves pressing a stationary steel block against the spinning steel ring while the grease is applied right to the contact point.
speaker_1HOST
14:25
Oh, exactly right.
speaker_0HOST
14:26
And they just keep adding weights to a lever arm until the grease film physically breaks, which causes the metal to score.
Eric BleekerHOST

There's RBC Bearings and a German company named Schaeffler.
Eric BleekerHOST
75:01
But Timken is the next name I'm zeroing in on.
Eric BleekerHOST
75:05
It's an $8 billion company that trades for about 16 times forward earnings.
Eric BleekerHOST
75:09
A look at the company's recent history reveals, uh, lo, that special.
Eric BleekerHOST
75:16
They're expected to land at 4.8 billion this year.
Eric BleekerHOST
75:21
Um, not off to a good start, but when you look under the hood of this company, it reveals a deeper opportunity.
Eric BleekerHOST
75:28
Timken has been extremely ambitious at building a portfolio all around being a leader in not just bearings, but robotics movements.
Eric BleekerHOST
75:40
So this includes acquisitions to build out that portfolio in key robotics segments like harmonic drives, high-precision drives, linear actuators, and motion systems.
Mish SchneiderGUEST

If it holds now above that 50, especially if the market calms down, that could be really good.
Mish SchneiderGUEST
21:11
I still like Timken, but it's been volatile, so I was in, I was out, and now I'm aside, but I would keep an eye on it because that's related to robotics, which I still think is a good longer term play.
Mish SchneiderGUEST
21:22
I'm just...

You know, I'm all about the market timing.

So I've been looking into companies that make those, and Timken is one, that, the symbol there is T- TKR.
Mish SchneiderGUEST
30:26
It actually broke out over 120.
Mish SchneiderGUEST
30:29
Today it traded at like 121-something.
