The Mission Continues

We'll get into that later about what went on there and a lot of what went on during the 22 years.

After that year off, I took a job with a nonprofit called Mission Continues, where I was mentoring other veterans on how to get through that transition that I just failed at and to make sure they didn't go through that same problem I did.

I did that for about two and a half years, one, because I didn't want to be a statistic of losing a job after one year like many veterans are, and two, because I'm hardhead like just referenced earlier.

So I stayed there a couple of years until one of my first sergeants called and said, hey, brother, you want a job? I said, yes.

No way.

And I just kept going through things.

And I started a fellowship with the Mission Continues as a fellow.

And I started volunteering at the Red Cross and starting to find that purpose to give back to people.

Um, and it just kept on growing.

And because social media is also blooming at this time, you know, the awareness is being picked up, so other organizations like Team Rubicon, um, The Mission Continues veteran leadership program based here in Pittsburgh, "Hey, can you come over and do some stuff with our folks?" Or, "Can you come out and join us in doing some of the things we're doing?"

Yeah.

It just kept on proliferating in that way and growing, and then eventually we got invited into the Beaver County Veteran Treatment Court.
