The Knife

So I was thinking about Silencio.

I was thinking about silence, and, um, this Swedish electronic duo, The Knife, has this song called Silent Shout.

But I, I, I'm, I'm not really into that s- [laughs] into that song.

But it got me thinking about their, another song of theirs called Heartbeats that seems to align a little bit more with the cocktail of emotions in this movie.

That said, I'm not gonna use their version because I like much better the Jose Gonzalez cover of this song, the stripped down, slowed down, nylon string acoustic guitar cover, which is one of the greatest covers of the 2000s.

Uh, fight me.

So we're gonna wrap this mixtape up with Jose Gonzalez and his version of The Knife's Heartbeats.

What do you guys think? You got any songs about dreams or cowboys or long drives through LA at night? Get at me and let me know.

Shout out to Captain Mustache for turning me on to that remix of Silent Shout.

That's one of my favorite songs by The Knife, and I've been obsessed with this Williams Aesthetic Circuitous remix.

What a great find, courtesy of Captain Mustache.

Thank you.

Mm

... which was like The Knife, and Robyn-

Yeah, I'm interested

... and Nicki Minaj and Lykke Li and, and, uh, The Cardigans, and like, and-

I, no, no, for sure.

I would say both, both Robyn and The Knife.

Yeah

Like both, both heavily inspired the song.
