You know, if you're on social media, you can definitely see it's, uh, it's, the rodeo's getting pretty, uh, pretty wild really.

I, I think it's been pretty fun to watch just, just following the guys from social media to what the Cowboy Channel has to offer.

Yeah.

Yeah, it's awesome.

Really? Yeah.

And it was such a different era, because tonight you can literally turn on the Cowboy Channel every night, watch a rodeo.

Back in that day, there might have been a TV show with a rodeo on it once in a while.

You'd get a newspaper a couple weeks later.

Well, from that respect, I got to believe that the fans of rodeo across the board are higher than they've ever been.

I believe that, too.

I love the Cowboy Channel and what it's done for our industry.

It's been, in my opinion, the biggest growth response is because of television.

that's really good to hear and and for most of us most of our a lot of our podcast listeners will know um kyle's sister keys um works for the cowboy channel and does

quite

a bit of stuff too really that's right yeah yeah commentates

from the amateur amateur rate to the top yeah it's and it and the thing that stuck with me and it just came back to me as we were visiting before we start the podcast is she said when she was graduating from high school she's like i'm gonna be in media like she knew she wanted to be on television or something to do with that Before she graduated

from high school.

The crazy thing is before they even had the Cowboy Channel.

Yeah.

So it's like, you know, what is the right move? It's, it's such a hard deal.

But if it wasn't for like, you know, sponsorships and, you know, being able to do clinics, being able to train and sell horses, everything, being on Cowboy Channel, stuff like that, like just all the stuff that, that I get from being out here, I wouldn't be out here because it's...

Why would you be out here?

Doesn't make sense financially, right?

On the, you just, you spoke of seven layoffs at the PRCA.

Have you heard things about layoffs at the cowboy channel? As I, I have.

Yeah.

I've, I've know of several people that have lost their jobs at the cowboy channel.

Well, or at Teton Ridge on both sides from the, not just from the cowboy channel, but on the American rodeo side too.

And so, you know, everybody, everybody wonders, are they just leaning up and trying to do it right? Which is smart.

You can't lose money forever and they're losing money.

Um, Are they prepping it to flip it? Who knows? But they're very engaged, and they continue to reinforce the fact that you're not going to see every rodeo on the linear channel.

Well, they take me and they crown me the world champion.

They take me, interview me, the Cowboy Channel, forgot about the ground money.

So Janie grabs me and she's like, we're going to interview, you know why we're interviewing you? And at that point I knew I'd won the average.

And I was like, oh, because I won the average? She goes, no, they're telling me you won the world.
