For communication, I grabbed a Telcel prepaid SIM.

Telcel dominates coverage.

The brand is Amigo.

You can top up at OXO, but registration requires ID and often a biometric scan in store.

Also, get a data eSIM before you land.

Telcel is the dominant carrier.

Under new rules, every line must be linked to a CURP and ID.

Do it online or at a center in Morelia.

Banking, phone registration, the whole digital life of being a resident.

Under the new rules, every SIM card must be linked to a C-U-R-P. Telcel is the dominant carrier so I will need to sort that out too.

No full Telcel center in Pátzcuaro so I will have to go to Morelia for that as well.

Two trips for the price of one.

Efficiency is key.

And get a data eSIM before you land.

Telcel works best here.

Coverage is good in the center.

Weak in the hills.

And that's the thing.

And so Telcel and these companies now are starting to feel the pressure because they know that once people find an alternative or they just do, you know, go another route, they're going to stay with that other route.

And they're not coming back as customers.

And that's what's happening.

So... uh marianne lunch from the relocation says uh the cutoffs are not happening well that's not true that's not true because again my phone has been cut off you know me like 100 been cut off i've actually been uh using another sim card and uh using another phone as a hot spot because my phone has actually been cut off but the funny thing is that is that not only has it been cut off but It's been cut off from me making phone calls or sending text messages, but I still get text messages from Amazon.

You know, I'm still getting messages from Telcel.

In fact, Telcel sends me messages all the time.
