Sydney Flames

They do have some players out, but enter Tess Heal.

You know, she had a massive game against the Sydney Flames on Friday night at the State Basketball Center.

Had 24 points against the stack lineup group from the Sydney Flames as well.

What did you see from her and how much will she benefit from having someone like Sammy Mack sort of showing her the way for the Flyers?

I think the one thing about Sammy that I know he's not well-known in the women's environment for being a coach, but the one thing that the girls will start to learn and why I think people will end up wanting to play for Southside is Sammy will let you go if you do the right things.

They played one game.

They were beaten comprehensively by the Sydney Flames by 33 points.

They got their first home game tonight.

And Rupert Sapwell will join us from 4 o'clock.

Watch the first half of the game.

We're in it up to our eyeballs.

but we ended up losing by 27 points to the Sydney Flames.

And joining us is one of the stars of the Lightning, Taylor Brazel.

I'm very excited for this opening round of WNBL 27.

So your Flyers, your last team, opens tonight against your old club, the Sydney Flames.

Chinese superstars see you and shoe you going head-to-head.

You've been exposed to them at international level.

That's absolutely

fine.

Who wins that game and why? The Flyers or the Flames? Who walks away on top?

I think Renee.

Maybe a little bit of a chance at revenge at the, uh, start of the new season.

Some of the other games, the, uh, Southside Melbourne Flyers are taking on the Sydney Flames tomorrow.

The other Saturday game, the Capitals up against the Bendigo Spirit.

Uh, the Bendigo, they'll be without Izzy Bourlais 'cause she's over in, uh, the WNBA at the moment playing in that championship series.

Uh, then Sunday the, um, the Sydney Flames are back in action again, taking on the Adelaide Lightning.

Um, and then the last game in round one on Tuesday, the Adelaide Lightning and the Townsville Fire from the SA State Basketball Center.

But the Lynx, bit of a, a new look roster for them, getting underway against Townsville on Saturday, four o'clock at home at the, uh, the Perth HPC out there in Mount Claremont, the High Performance Center.

Southside versus Sydney.

Flyers v Flames.

You go.

I'm tipping the Flames for this one, so probably the team that I am also quite excited to see this season.

Sydney's probably got a lot of hype around them as well.

Uh-

Um, but, uh, in NBL1 East, the Norths Bears women were very similar on paper, and when they played fast pace with space and unselfishly, they were unstoppable.

They did go undefeated in the regular season, their arch nemesis Manly bringing them down, but it was just the, was just beautiful to watch.
