Everyone knows Europeans are ahead of most of the world when it comes to sustainability in many ways.

And this conversation shows that that's true for PGGM, which is the firm that manages the 250 billion euro portfolio of the Dutch pension PFZW, which is a large pension in the Netherlands that focuses on the health care and social welfare sectors.

Our guests today are Geraldine Levewater, who is the CEO of PGGM Investment Management, and Colin Tissen, who is the sustainability lead within the mandate management team at PGGM.

Their chapter in the handbook is titled From 2D to 3D Investing, and it's a very cool story of how they really reshape their whole approach to integrate sustainability and addressing systemic risks across everything that they do.

And one of them is by Yap and Yap Van Dam.

And he essentially describes kind of one of the original 2011 shifts, the white sheet of paper project.

And it kind of reflects on this like existential moment that the financial crisis and the PFZW's license to operate essentially were under threat and that essentially helped to trigger some of this initial thinking and then leads into the more, you know, obviously later on to this fundamental shift from 2D to 3D.

I found it fascinating.
