ScannerHOST

Oh no, Starbreeze.
ScannerHOST
9:27
Starbreeze.
ScannerHOST
9:28
Did they later become Monolith? Um...
ScannerHOST
9:30
No, but they did make Payday 2.
Kae RossHOST
61:12
I forget who did that.
Kae RossHOST
61:14
Yeah, that was Starbreeze.
Kae RossHOST
61:15
That was the Riddick people.
Kae RossHOST
61:18
That went offline shockingly recently, actually.
Kae RossHOST
62:03
And then this was the 2012 reboot of it.
Kae RossHOST
62:06
I don't know about anything more recent than Syndicate.
Dennis FuriaHOST
62:08
Oh, and Starbreeze went on to publish Payday 2.
Dennis FuriaHOST
62:12
Mm-hmm.
Kay RossHOST
61:12
I forget who did that.
Kay RossHOST
61:14
Yeah, that was Starbreeze.
Kay RossHOST
61:15

StephHOST
36:15
The reason that people have kind of attached to thinking that this might be their names is this is the sound that...
StephHOST
36:21
they make when they're trying to like call each other in the game so they'll just kind of make like a noise and this is kind of the closest name that you've got uh to each of them so the game itself is called yeah like a brother's a tell of two sons uh it's like a puzzle adventure game and it was released in 2013 by Starbreeze and essentially it's like a little adventure that you go on playing as your two brothers so you've got an older brother the one Nya that they think and then you've got younger brother Nei and you leave the house to save your dying father so you're looking for a potion to save him he's dying on his deathbed and there's no one else around so you've gotta off you go as young boys off into the adventure There's also like, it's like one of those ones where it's like a fun little puzzle game.
StephHOST
37:09
You're basically controlling both of the brothers on like each thumb stick, which makes them for some fun puzzles.
StephHOST
37:16
So it's half like you've got to do some controls, but it's like more really like thinking about where to maneuver one of them to then like stand on something to then get the other one around and those kinds of things.

6 MINS LATER

NikkiHOST
43:53
Oh, really? Yeah.
NikkiHOST
43:55
As in the same development team?
StephHOST
43:57
Yeah, well, it's Starbreeze, and I don't know if Starbreeze still exists in the same way.
StephHOST
44:02
I believe Joseph Fez is the person in charge of the other games since then.
Jay PowellGUEST
14:50
And so I did...
Jay PowellGUEST
14:52
the very first north american distribution deals for this little company called paradox um did the first publishing deal for for high lamont studios which is going on still to this day uh the first deal for starbreeze and that was like one of my How good are your sales techniques? We sold a development publishing agreement to, I believe it was Crave at the time.
Jay PowellGUEST
15:19
There was no playable demo of this game that Starbreeze was creating.
Jay PowellGUEST
15:23
It was simply a mirrored cube floating down a hallway.
Jay PowellGUEST
15:28
And it was not that impressive these days because you have Unity and Unreal and all that stuff.
RedRoosterHOST
10:41
But obviously, there were several other video game projects that were announced previously, but got canned, even though they are still in development.
RedRoosterHOST
10:49
And most notably, there was a couple, one from Starbreeze Studios, one from Giant Skull.
RedRoosterHOST
10:55
Which, who was it? There was a very famous video game developer.
RedRoosterHOST
10:58
Well, somewhat famous video game developer that headed up Giant Skull, so what a shame.
Russ MorrisseyHOST
11:04
So there are other D&D video games.
Russ MorrisseyHOST
11:06
So there are some that were cancelled, like Starbreeze and Giant Skull were making games and they got cancelled.
Jessica HancockHOST
11:12
But we didn't even know what that was.
Jessica HancockHOST
11:13
It was an untitled project.
