Hi, my name is Dr. Erin Norris.

I am a rheumatologist at St. Michael's Hospital and an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Toronto.

My passion is disability inclusion in medicine and specifically the inclusion of physicians with disabilities in the profession of medicine.

Dr. Erin Norris, welcome to ICO Blackheart.

fight for change is getting bigger.

She's on the board of directors of the Canadian Association of Physicians with Disabilities and is part of a national working group to recruit and retain a diverse workforce in health care.

She's on the Equity of Access Committee at St. Michael's Hospital.

Erin has inspired me to advocate to help MDs approaching retirement find that in-between she talked about.

There's a, there's a great story about what Ali did after the fight and what you did after the fight.

[laughs] Well, he, he went to the, he went to the hospital with bleeding kidneys at St Mike's Hospital in Toronto.

And now I'd like to welcome Dr. Malcolm Moore, who is a medical oncologist at the Princess Margaret Cancer Center, former head of BC Cancer, Dr. Fahad Razak, who is a general internist at St. Michael's Hospital, and a Canada Research Chair in Healthcare Data and Analytics at the University of Toronto, and Dr. Elisa Naiman, a family doctor practicing in Toronto.

Thanks so much for joining us.

I did my internal medicine and gastroenterology training in Toronto.

And then I did an advanced endoscopy fellowship with a group that used to be called the Wellesley Group, but they had moved to St. Michael's Hospital at the time.

It's a very famous group in advanced endoscopy in Canada.

It was led by Dr. Norman Marcon.

Yeah, I'd love to.

Maybe I'll start off with what I did before.

So I worked at a hospital in downtown Toronto called St. Michael's Hospital for about 15 years.

St. Michael's is an academic health science center in Toronto, and it really prided itself at the time on clinical practical education.

Now, time for The Medical Record.

And now I'd like to welcome Dr. Fahad Razak, a general internist at St. Michael's Hospital and Canada Research Chair in Healthcare Data and Analytics at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Elisa Naiman, a family doctor practicing in Toronto, and Dr. Keith Stewart, Vice President Cancer and Director of the Princess Margaret Cancer Program at the University Health Network.

Hi, everyone.

He leads Harvard Medical School's professional, corporate, and continuing education enterprise.

Dr. Alan Ackery, he's vice president and chief medical officer at Unity Health Toronto, as well as an emergency physician and trauma team leader at St. Michael's Hospital.

And Dr. Ahmed Taher, he's an emergency physician and deputy chief of staff and quality lead at McKenzie Health with a focus on quality improvement, patient safety, and system redesign.

We talked about why physicians receive years of clinical training, but relatively little formal preparation for leadership.

And I enjoy those things, don't get me wrong.

But what I actually found a lot of joy in is when there was a critical intervention needed and I was leading at that level.

So I'm a trauma team leader at St. Michael's Hospital.

That's a team that's basically built of multiple specialties.
