Sport Chek

But it's funny, so I, I get to Ottawa yesterday, and I, I, uh, like, I'm packing my stuff, and I'm like, "Oh, no, I didn't bring a plaid shirt for Plaidtoberfest." So where I stay here at The Westin in Ottawa, it's connected to, like, a pretty decent mall.

So I was like, "You know what? I'll just pop over to the mall, see if I can find a double XL plaid shirt somewhere." And then I was like, "But where am I gonna find a double XL plaid shirt?" And I, like, step into the mall out of the hotel, and look directly to my left, and there's a Sport Chek with just a wall-

Yeah

... of plaid shirts.

Hmm

... um, whether it was a gig at Sport Chek or The Oval or, or whatnot.

Um, I have a lot of teammates that always paid the bills, you know.

Um, uh, but being that I put so much work outside of sport into be able to chase that career in sport, um, I feel like it kind of helps give an athlete such as myself the bigger picture-

Is it only training just to like try and get better, to like squeeze some seconds off? Or are you trying to find a job? Like what, what starts happening?

No, so I had like, this is what, you know, coming back to working my whole life.

Like I had a job with Sport Chek before I even moved to Calgary.

Mm.

Yeah.

I, we have interesting, like, similar k- types of backgrounds 'cause when I started out in sales, I worked at, not Chance, but Sport Chek.

Yeah.

And instead of selling shoes, I was selling winter jackets.

Cool.

So yeah, yeah.

That was nice on the floor at Sport Chek, man.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah, that's like a, a C league of Sport Chek.

Like, it's a knockdown.

That's like a Play It Again Sports.

And I'm like, "How far are we going to go? 'Cause my feet are killing me." And then we all went...

Was it Sport Chek? She took us all to a Sport Chek, and we all walked out with, like, On Clouds or HOKA or whatever.

We all bought On Clouds.

Yep.
