Hey, it took me like 30 tries.

Is the co-founder and chair of Spin Master, the global children's entertainment company whose toys and shows reach children and families in more than 160 countries.

When did you kind of stumble into your idea for your business, Spin Masters?

It was literally right after we graduated.

there's not just one number okay you can choose to take some expenses earlier rather than later if you do so and actions etc and but the bottom line is mattel in that quarter have sold more and made less um which i think is a fair indication spin masters second quarter results for 2026 um revenues were up nine percent um and ebitda was up as well but its toy division uh recorded sales allowances of 53 million dollars which was equivalent to 12.8 percent of gross toy product sales.

I mean, that's a really significant percentage.

You know, if you think that a royalty percentage added on top might be about the same or even more, you know, it starts to become obvious that there's a lot of pressures on this P&L.

Because again, the, the previous track record wasn't, uh, super strong.

That's who they walked away from when they gave it to, uh, um, spin master and myself, they, they walked away from, uh, Mattel at the end of 2019 and then gave it to a couple other companies, myself included.

So we'll see.

We'll see what they can do with the momentum.

But rarely, rarely are you ever going to get both, right? So that's just the nature of the beast that's out there.

And we became a bit of a victim of our own success that we got – so big with our sales and we were so well received that by the time, you know, somebody comes in and bids that they don't want to be competing with my company.

So part of the deal is we'll, we'll give you a big guarantee, but we don't want to compete with McFarland because it's, He did that with Spin Master and didn't sort of bode well for Spin Master at times.

So they go, the easiest thing is just take them off the street.
