Jordi CortesGUEST

And it happens little by little.
Jordi CortesGUEST
7:01
Like we have a trail grant and Shimano does a pretty good job of giving money.
Jordi CortesGUEST
7:05
I'm sure Roots Ram Rock Shocks does the same.
AJ BarlessHOST
7:07
Yeah.
Chris CocalisGUEST
8:53
You know, they were just getting started, so probably better than other startup companies.
Chris CocalisGUEST
9:01
We've been through this a few times with newer motor manufacturers from the first release of the Shimano motor and Fazua and other things like that.
Chris CocalisGUEST
9:15
Any of these companies are technology companies that are pushing hard at the beginning of their development.
Chris CocalisGUEST
9:23
yeah maybe service maybe systems maybe everything else at the beginning of our discussions weren't weren't quite in place and honestly we could have gotten a a bike with that um first generation motor to to market a lot quicker with the time that we we had put into it and the fact that it did really almost fit into a chassis we already had going And it could have been more of a plug and play, let's get this to market and be one of the first non-Amflo bikes out there.
PhillyHOST
0:20
We've got the final end of our Stance 25 athletes joining us.
PhillyHOST
0:24
But of course, we are counting down to seeing the first of our Shimano Waka 100 athletes crossing the finish line in this 20th anniversary of the event.
PhillyHOST
0:35
So, so
Richard GreerHOST
0:35
good.
PhillyHOST
1:03
Yeah, absolutely.
PhillyHOST
1:04
So yeah, so we're really looking forward to welcoming the first of our athletes home in those longer distances.
PhillyHOST
1:09
Of course, the Shimano Waka 100 and the National Championship titles up for grabs too in that marathon distance.
PhillyHOST
1:17
And then, of course, we then will be welcoming home the giant mylar athletes as well, which you saw off this morning bright and early.
SteveHOST
11:14
When a road bike with a front derailleur, and actually in the back of the day, mountain bikes...
SteveHOST
11:21
They would come out of the box brand new at the bike shop, and they'd have, the ones with Shimano would have this little orange sticker on the front derailleur.
SteveHOST
11:28
And it was there to show the gap between the front derailleur and the top of the chainrings.
SteveHOST
11:35
This is a setup guide from Shimano.
SteveHOST
11:39
This always, always should have been removed by bike shops and it seemingly never was.
SteveHOST
11:45
So I will have customers come in for a tune-up and their bike could be 20 years old and they still have this sticker on there.

26 MINS LATER

KristenHOST
37:52
Yeah, it does start to add up for a bike shop.
KristenHOST
37:54
And they have to be sensitive to their body, bottom line.
Andrew DeathHOST
28:37
For second place with this one, what did you get to take home?
Stephen CysterGUEST
28:42
I have a very nice Shimano Artista rod.
Stephen CysterGUEST
28:45
It's a one to three kilo.
Stephen CysterGUEST
28:47
And hopefully this weekend I'll be able to get out and use it.

1 HR 24 MINS LATER

Andrew DeathHOST
113:19
And, mate, last thing, there is one more thing before we shoot off.
Andrew DeathHOST
113:22
As we come into this weekend after this is released, mate, you're off to Lake Macquarie.
Steve MorganGUEST
113:27
We've got the inaugural Shimano Australian Open for Flathead, and the entries are now starting to build a little bit.
Steve MorganGUEST
113:33
I'm pretty sure it's going to be a 100% payback event and a $350 entry fee.
Taylor KnibbGUEST
32:55
I was ready to start the marathon with her.
Taylor KnibbGUEST
32:56
Because there's this Shimano person who was on a little scooter that I thought was Lucy the whole time.
Taylor KnibbGUEST
33:01
So every time I'd look back, the Shimano guy was still there.
Taylor KnibbGUEST
33:04
And so I thought Lucy was still there.
Matt LietoHOST
33:06
So I know early in the run, there was a lot going on.
Jared EricksonHOST
59:24
Speaking of cranks, I did something crazy, you guys.
Jared EricksonHOST
59:26
I tried Shimano pedals.
Jared EricksonHOST
59:30
For the first time.
Jared EricksonHOST
59:31
Because you're a Crankbrothers guy.
TydemanHOST
60:52
Oh yeah.
TydemanHOST
60:52
And it's got this thing like a mounts underneath your cleat and it's meant to give more surface area between like your shoe and your pedal.
TydemanHOST
60:58
Because that's one of the things that kind of I personally find with the Shimano stuff, which I still run, but it just kind of feels like skatey at times.
TydemanHOST
61:06
And you're only standing on like metal to metal contact and you can kind of dance around on it.
JohnGUEST
53:08
And I'm working my way to my juice here.
JohnGUEST
53:10
I talked about Shimano earlier.
JohnGUEST
53:14
Now, if I'm fishing that glide bait and it's a smaller profile of bait fish that they're chasing, this is another Shimano bait.
JohnGUEST
53:24
It's called the Facer.
JohnGUEST
53:26
And it's a three-jointed bait, if that's the way you say it.
JohnGUEST
53:31
And again, Shimano's coming on strong.
JaredGUEST
53:34
Is that the one that – no, I'm sorry.
JaredGUEST
53:36
I bought one of those tonight.
Mark StillHOST
12:12
How does that work out?
Tim JohnsonGUEST
12:13
Yeah, so, I mean, we offer everything across Shimano, SRAM, and into Campy.
Tim JohnsonGUEST
12:18
You know, obviously the last one is kind of like a fit for that Italian brand.
Tim JohnsonGUEST
12:22
you know, die hard.
Tim JohnsonGUEST
12:24
But a lot of what we sell is SRAM.
Tim JohnsonGUEST
12:26
You know, we offer, you know, great Shimano packages.
Tim JohnsonGUEST
12:30
Our product manager is kind of like a character in and of himself.
Tim JohnsonGUEST
12:34
Claudio, like, has built these things and seen them.
Jack BurkeHOST
51:53
At a different one of those camps...
Jack BurkeHOST
51:55
Alex Dowsett was teasing me in a fun way, like it was all just jokes, when he realized I had a Shimano rear brake and a SRAM front brake, and I laughed along with everyone because I wanted them to move on so they wouldn't look closer and noticed there was a rubber band around the front brake to make it work since the return spring had broken, and when I got the bike it was a used one from the team I could borrow and it came with that rubber band on it already, like Jasper had this bike the year before and so he jerry-rigged the rubber band.
Jack BurkeHOST
52:24
Dude, that's how hard it is and it's like that for so many guys.
Jack BurkeHOST
52:28
I'm not unique and there's not that many spots available.
