SEIU is behind an effort to boycott Starbucks, which labor leaders say has not bargained in good faith with workers who want to organize.

So late yesterday, the lobbyist for SEIU in Washington State sent an email to several state lawmakers complaining about Katie Davis Court's reporting.

And the email is just astounding 'cause I think, one, it shows they're very concerned because what happened down in California when Nick Shirley exposed some of the fraud that was taking place there by home healthcare providers, daycares and stuff, SEIU in California, the chapter down there, they freaked out.

So unions, you know, were among those who That protest against ICE, you know, who who honked their horns when ICE agents were pushing.

So Trump's prosecutors in Minnesota seized, obtained the financial records of some of the leading most respected unions in the nation, the Service Employees International Union and my union, the Communication Workers of America, the Newspaper Guild Union.

because they're suspected of engaging in domestic terrorism because they had the audacity to stand up to Trump and stand up to ICE.

And not only that, Rick, you know, the AFL-CIO, you know, this middle of the road, you know, very sturdy, respected organization representing over 15 million workers and retirees.

Because then what happens is every other union lines up and says, why them and not me? The teachers do it.

SEIU does it.

AFSCME does it.

You name it.

And yet Newsom vetoed it.

So, John, those two Republicans are Carl DeMaio and Diane Dixon, who supported Newsom in his call for workers, state workers to return to office.

Every major union opposed this, especially SEIU.

They were hoping to see this thing go through.

Interesting.

Well, Thad, last week, several civil rights organizations, including the NAACP and SEIU, filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration saying they're using the threat of ICE enforcement to interfere with the election.

Lauren touched on this, but what else did you learn specifically about election concerns from people of color?

Yeah, so one of the things that state and local election officials are doing around the country is trying to give voters the tools and the information they need to ensure that they can participate in the election, that they can vote and not face this discrimination.

The 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers East is already America's largest healthcare union.

With one of the largest union election votes in U.S. history currently pending, it might even grow by more than 47%.

The union announced yesterday, Tuesday, that it has filed for an election through the National Labor Relations Board for workers under the state's Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program, or CDPAP.

The two Democrats have split endorsements.

Kim, a progressive, backed by Senator Bernie Sanders, and labor groups like CTA and SEIU.

Allen, earning the state party's endorsement, as well as Senators Alex Padilla and Adam Schiff.

Both are asking voters to pay very close attention to this race.
