Other news to get to on the dings and dents front, Sam Darnold has received really, really good news, that's a quote, regarding his hip injury, according to coach Mike McDonald on Thursday.

But the Seahawks starting quarterback is expected to miss at least the team's week two game.

29-year-old had an MRI on his right hip Thursday morning after he was injured in the opening possession of the Seahawks' eventual win on Wednesday night.

The coach saying during his weekly radio show that Darnold's hip is intact, and that it appears the injury is muscular.

Now, how long that he's out, we don't know yet, but really, really good news, so we're really happy for Sam.

But it is painful, though.

I know it hasn't been an easy night for him, and certainly not an enviable injury there.

Sam Darnold dealing with a hip concern moving into week two, which he reportedly will miss for the Seattle Seahawks.

So, those are just some, some top things off the cuff.

But let's talk about, let's talk about, and we're gonna talk about the Seahawks as well.

This is all about the NFC West, and the things that, that kinda have my attention.

Because I think we're so familiar with the Seahawks storylines, and I'll come back to those, I'm gonna start with the Rams and 49ers storylines that got my attention from last night, and then we'll go back to the Seahawks stuff.

So one thing that I was kinda curious about is it's one thing to lose your first game of the season.

It's another thing to get blown out by 20 points in the first game of the season.

The Seahawks, the Patriots both lost week one games last year, including the Patriots losing to the Raiders, and both of them were in the Super Bowl.

Obviously, one of them won it.

You gotta run split field coverage, quarter, quarter, half between, you know, that, and, and force May to do split field stuff.

It, it's the last five, six games Drake May's played through the playoffs, week one against Seattle, and I know those are better teams in general, so that, that kind of makes it a little bit murky, but the May splits are really ugly against cover six.

Remember when everybody was playing the Dolphins and it was Tua and Tyreek and Jaylen Waddle, and we didn't really have an answer in '23 for the offense and, and then Kansas City kind of came out and got really aggressive and physical with you, and then in '24 everybody said, "We're gonna press them anyway.

We don't care that they have the speed, even though it's counterintuitive.

Uh, without Brock Bowers especially, I think that tilts the math in your favor.

Um, I made this point on the squad show a little earlier this afternoon, but, uh, the Raiders averaged 3.6 yards per carry last year.

Seattle averaged 4.1. Now, they just ran the, the snot out of the ball and said three yards and then a cloud of dust.

But it's not like Klee Kubiak does a bunch of crazy stuff from a run game perspective, so I think they're a little limited from a personnel standpoint.

y-... you, you gut it out to start the game, but then at some point, especially if the game's not going so well, it's like the, the effects of it, you know, probably really compromised the Rams' second half.

Can I, can I have a point of contention with you and Crack? 'Cause both you and Crack said the same thing after the Seahawks game, which is, "No one shoulda lost on this number, the field three, da, da, da, da, da, da." You guys are big on saying that.

Um, okay, it ignores, right, that the Seahawks' starting quarterback got knocked out.

Their Super Bowl-winning quarterback got knocked out after five plays.

And Crack's response was, "Well, the result is the result," which I'm sure is what your response is, too.

That's fine that you guys get to say that, you know, uh, apart from actual details of the game, and the fact that the Seahawks should have covered it 50 times with all the different things that happened.

Mm-hmm.

That my problem with guys like s- like you guys, when you say that kind of thing is I never hear from you when it doesn't work out that way.

That was a good one.

When the bullets are live, when there are real stakes, when there are Seattle Seahawks trying to take your head off, it's a little bit different.

And it's a little bit more difficult.

And so is this who Drake May will be moving forward? I would say, no, not that Wednesday night version.

on wednesday night the seattle seahawks lost their super bowl winning quarterback on the opening series they still managed to win, and I don't know, and I certainly hope that won't be the case, but it feels like logic tells you against an unnamed team that no specific team, that that would be the game plan.

I guess I'm a little bit apprehensive about the idea of having them sling it around the yard against Brian Flores and against that offensive line.

Yeah, I'm not worried about it.

Sam Darnold got hurt yesterday, and depending on how long he's out, they say he's going to be out for a couple weeks.

If it's longer, who knows if the Seahawks come calling for Andy Dalton or Tanner McKee.

On the offensive side of the ball, I was going to go Saquon, but I'm going to go with Jalen Hurts.

And obviously everybody's doubting that he's able to run this offense, that he's going to be able to throw over the middle of the field, that he's going to be able to hit his receivers with timing patterns, and he's going to want to go out there and prove everybody wrong.

Yeah, that's the only time.

You know, the Seattle Seahawks defense, they'll make anybody look like this.

This will be the only time you see Drake May play that bad versus this defense.

This defense is stacked.

They're loaded, ladies and gentlemen.

I don't give a damn what Seattle Seahawks defense is.

That has nothing to do.

And I'm being honest with you.

Who's your teams? Well, I'm like...

If you're on the western side of the state, you're a Seahawks fan.

Central, you're Denver and football.

And then the eastern side, you're either Vikes or you're Packers.

Seattle's fucking the best team in the NFL, man.

They're all like.

Let's go Seahawks.
