Sand County Foundation

Yep, ESAP, Environmental Stewardship Award.

It is the Leopold Award with the Sand County Foundation.

American Farmland Trust also sponsors that.

It is often the biggest ranches in the West or a lot of the tough ones because they have the ability and kind of have different outlook on the world than a lot of other ranches and they're able to do things that other ranches kind of aren't and if they screw up it's not a big deal but a lot of times when you start doing the right thing for the environment the right thing happens to your calvert and everything else follows so it's just a really prestigious award and it's really cool that logan and his family were able to pull that in and on the national level so congratulations on that but awards don't write the check they get the right guy to pick up the phone So when Logan Ripinoe calls, and I would argue that because of the work my parents did, when I call, people will pick up the phone because maybe I'll have some interesting thing to say about birds that they hadn't thought about.

And this is what we're talking about is managing the water resources.

Iowa State University, I guess it was about 10 years ago, did a study and it was, the way I found out about it was the Sand County Foundation had this on a slide.

But they, Iowa State looked at the crop losses in corn from 1940 to 2010.

They looked at the crop losses in soybeans from 1955 to 2010.

Why us? That's where I get to with it.

Yeah, I guess what I would say about that, Michael, they have the Sand County Foundation who is responsible for the Leopold Award.

Every other year has a gathering of Leopold Award winners.

And we've gone to the last two, and I hope to go to the next one.
