The United States refutes a claim that Iran has captured a sail drone USV.

This is from Today Defense News.

A video shared by Iran Wednesday purported to show an American sail drone unmanned surface vessel near the Strait of Hormuz in flames after being attacked by the IRGC.

The United States has disputed that claim.

Here's a quote from unnamed official.

All of our sail drones are accounted for and operational.

This comes on the heels of another incident in which Andril's Dive LD autonomous underwater vehicle was captured on 8 September.

We know Andrew sent stuff over.

We know that, um, Saronic has sent stuff over, Sail Drone, whatever.

If that's the approach, you're going to have stuff that breaks.

You're going to have uncrewed systems that lose connectivity.

We're never really going to know that until they open.

But these things are going to get compromised.

You know, everybody got excited a few years ago when the Iranians grabbed a couple of sail drones in the Persian Gulf.

Oh, wow, they captured a sail drone, which is, you know, a pretty relatively rudimentary thing.
