But then there are some, uh, uh, schools that we work with that they pay for the, the work that we do.

We've worked with Rotary, Rotaract clubs, um, to do some of these programs-

... across Tanzania and, and Zanzibar.

You don't have to join a Rotary Club.

You can join a Rotaract Club, which is a younger demographic.

Oh, okay.

Rotaract.

Rotaract.

So if you join a Rotaract Club, you may pick that up at university.

A lot of the universities do have Rotaract Clubs or search for one online.

And of course, university students are very good at getting online and surfing and seeing where things are.

Among his initiatives is the Bright Horizon Framework, an early intervention model designed to support vulnerable young people through mentorship, family engagement, education, and prevention.

Misick has also been significantly involved with the Rotaract Club of Providenciales and Rotary District 7020, serving in several leadership positions and demonstrating a commitment to the organization's principle of service above self.

Through his involvement, he became familiar with the financial difficulties confronting many families and helped coordinate food drives, community assistance programs, and charitable outreach efforts aimed at ensuring vulnerable people receive needed support.

We spoke with Andy Misick to find out about the award.

Um, how do I feel about being named a CIBC Unsung Hero? Very good question.

So I'm extremely grateful and humbled by the recognition, but for me, this award is much bigger than Andy Misick.

I see myself as a symbol of the many people and organizations I have the privilege of serving alongside every day, whether it be through my role as juvenile manager with the Department of Rehabilitation and Community Supervision, as a Rotarian, a Rotaractor, a executive member of the Youth Tribunal, or through the various community initiatives and partnerships I've been fortunate to be a part of.

None of this work happens alone.

Yeah, absolutely.

But, you know, we have so many younger members now, especially new Rotarians, but younger members in Rotaract that are joining that have no experience with polio.

Actually, I had no experience with polio until I joined Rotary.

I mean, I learned polio.

You hear people talk about the Spanish team, that most of the players... that won the World Cup for the coach were players that he had coached at the age group tournaments, like at under 17, under 19, under 21.

You know, he had coached them at that level and they are now at the world stage and they won the World Cup.

In our own case, we have the Youth Exchange, we have Ryla, we have Rotaract, You know, we have interact,

but who is our coach?

At a beer fest? At a beer fest.

We were from Rotaract, you know, like young Rotarians.

Oh, yeah, yeah.

Yeah, so we'd seen each other, but that's when the magic happened.

All of the clubs contribute to it.

We work under the mantle of Rotary Northwich and we work together on all of the activities that go on throughout the year and Rotaract as well.

They helped us with the grotto and we can't do it without the support of all of the clubs, without any doubt.

Weaver Valley were really instrumental in helping with some very long runs around Barnton in particular.
