And, uh, between President Warner and, and, uh, uh, Governor McKee, uh, they were very supportive of the, the idea of creating an institute on cybersecurity and emerging technologies.

And, uh, we've been up and running now for, uh, just over, well, two and a half years or so, and it's a, a growing effort at Rhode Island College.

And, and we're, in partnering with, uh, Dr. Tim Henry and, and the great professors at Rhode Island College, we are helping to educate the next generation of cyber professionals and cyber defenders.

Um, so I serve as the distinguished chair of the Institute for Cybersecurity and Emerging Technologies at RIC now.

And, uh, and then, uh, also, i- in addition to that, Governor McKee had asked me to chair the AI task force-

Uh, I came and, uh, decided, uh, there was a full-time position open that was temporary.

Decided to take it.

And when I saw, uh, those changes you just described at Rhode Island College, I think a lot of it has to do with support for the HOPE Scholarship also.

College Monday here at the University of Rhode Island here in Kingston, Rhode Island.

My sister went here for college.

I thought that was pretty cool because obviously that was my time during college, which I did not know.

And then coaching path for you, Salve Regina in 2015 and 2016, Rhode Island College 2017 to 2018, Ocean State Waves in the NECBL.

After that, four years, I went to the Division III level as an assistant.

My first job was at Rhode Island College in Providence.

for Coach Bob Walsh.

Then I moved on to Division II for two years at the University of New Haven, which now is Division I, and then we play in the Huskers out in Lincoln this December.

Um, you know, it's been kind of a theme here early in the pod, you know, your division three experiences, your division two experiences, you know, what, what specific skill, you know, what were two or three things that you felt like you're really locked in while you were doing everything? What are two or three niche areas that you really thought, hey, if I could really silo in this while continuing to developing all these other skills, this is going to be my my thing.

And, you know, your long term development as a coach, what two or three areas do you feel like you've really locked in at that have also allowed you to to make the career advancements that you have?

I think for me, my first experience with Coach Walsh at Rhode Island College taught me a lot.

He had been a high major assistant for a long time at Providence, and he had been at Rhode Island College, I think at the time when I was there for maybe seven or eight years, and they had gone to the NCAA tournament every single year.

I went back to school probably a class at a time in my 30s.

I graduated from Rhode Island College with my B.A. in social work when I was 50, 45, which was quite a long education.

So I got a job in the Newport schools as a family service coordinator, which was kind of my dream job, helping families with whatever it was they needed to make sure that their kids had everything that they needed to get the best education they could.

And at that time, we didn't have a lot of Latinos.

Again, it's the, uh, 20th year, Rhode Island College here in Providence, Rhode Island.

Near the North Providence border and, uh, not too far from North Providence.

this allowed me to just experience more diversity.

When I went away to college, I started at Rhode Island College and even more diversity there.

Wow.

So I just got to befriend people who looked like me, who had similar cultures or experiences.

I was really 32 years old and I had 10 years of experience post-college.

I had I got a bachelor's degree in social work, worked at Providence College for seven years, did the MBA studies while I was there.

And then the project that I was working for moved over to Rhode Island College.

So I actually worked at Rick for three years.
