Rev

Just get ready.

In today's conversation, we trace patterns in prayer book revision across culture and time and ask, is there a distinctive Anglican way of being that we need to pay attention to to help us navigate into the future? And speaking of Anglican way of being, we also brush up our definition of via media and we face the rap for Anglican fudge.

But what's deserved about that rap and what's often misunderstood about Anglican compromise? We discuss the kinds of historical moments in which revision tends to happen, and we ask, what moment are we in now? From Henry VIII to Resolution B12, we also venture to guess how the Hand of Providence has been at work all along the way.

In today's bonus segment, we turn to prayer once again, this time with Orthodox author and speaker Frederica Mathewes-Green for a lovely conversation about the Jesus Prayer.

This is a little teaser of our time together at the Praying with the Great Tradition Conference in May.

Yeah, I think so.

And that's part of what we argue at the end.

We actually think that these precedents should continue to function as touchstones for discernment, for debate, for ongoing prayer book revision, broadly speaking, but also... you know, the parish priest has a whole lot of decisions to make.

Let people debate that, but let's not lie about what Trump actually meant by his words and assume the absolute worst, that either his brain is mush or his conscience is pure evil.

I mean, hey, if you would like to check out more context, I will post a link to the transcript of Trump's entire speech, his rally in Nebraska, from Rev.com. You can see that in the show notes.

So, the hoax is still going on and, in fact, Trump doubled down on his words two days later, on October 7th at a rally in Texas.

He said similar things to what he said that outraged many people two days ago.

They were also flying Hamas and Hezbollah flags, illegal in Canada, right in front of the cops.

I find it interesting and a video was produced and released and for whatever reason and sent to the police with translation and I'm sure the Toronto police can afford a translator There's also a lot of, you know, Rev.com can do it for you.

It doesn't cost that much.

And they just, there were chants of people who were filmed.
