I'll tell you who else wasn't disappointed.

Thunder fans that went out to Libel Field last Saturday night under the lights and watched the Regina Thunder in a first place matchup against their arch rival, the Saskatoon Hilltops and a decisive 37 to 13 win.

Hey, great football game up until the half.

and then the thunder really kind of turned it on i don't want to say it was a beat down or anything like that but no question the second half of the game the thunder really turned up the physicality and uh you know pretty much took over that football game but i'll tell you what i've been with the thunder organization four years now and we haven't had a lot of luck here at home We've done really well up in Saskatoon at times, but here at home they always seem to find a way to get the job done.

This time it was fairly decisive, especially in that second half.

Man, they really started, you know, pounding and grinding in the trenches, and it really led to a nice win.

Thunder now 5-0.

Hilltops dropped to second place, and 3-2.

two wins right now one win right now uh so they definitely need that second win to try to crack the bottom half of the playoffs

all right so good week for the regina thunder expect uh expect a win in winnipeg

i hope so because uh that those winnipeg games get kind of goofy yeah Last year, even though we blew the doors off them here like we did this year, it was a 42-41 final that didn't get decided until the last drive.

So I'll be watching that game on Sunday on CGFL TV because it should be a good one.

Week six of the Prairie Football Conference season is in the books, and boy, did it start with a bang.

The Regina Thunder topped the Saskatoon Hilltops 37-13 at Livell Field on Saturday night.

The Thunder led 7-6 at halftime, but then blew it open in the second half, outscoring Saskatoon 30-7.

Regina defensive back Marcus Butts was a major factor in that shift in momentum, recording not one, but two interceptions and returning them both for touchdowns.

We let up quite a few yards, but I think we know our corrections and how to beat them again next week.

In other Week 6 action, Calgary topped the Edmonton Wildcats 30-12, while Winnipeg picked up their first win of the season with a 37-23 victory over the Edmonton Huskies.

Week 7 in the PFC, we'll see the 5-0 Regina Thunder head to Winnipeg to take on the 1-4 Rifles.

The 3-2 Saskatoon Hilltops will play the 2-3 Edmonton Huskies, while the Edmonton Wildcats and Calgary will hook up in a meeting of 2-3 teams.

I'd like to zone in on that a little bit and the importance of the CJFL, you spending time with the Regina Thunder yourself, looking back when you dissect the pipelines that feed into the CFL, how opportunity is it for players in the province and right across Western Canada to have those opportunities with the Prairie Football Conference?

The University of Regina opens their season at Libel Field against Manitoba tonight and also at Libel Field tomorrow.

It is the Regina Thunder against the Saskatoon Hilltops.

The two rivals will square off beginning at 7 o'clock.
