Tens of thousands of New Mexicans will lose their Medicaid Advantage coverage by the end of the year as three major insurers are scaling back their plans.

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is ending all Medicare Advantage plans, affecting roughly 30,000 people.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico and Christus Health are also dropping most of their plans.

The changes are leaving many older New Mexicans scrambling to find alternative coverage, with some facing higher premiums, co-pays, and out-of-pocket expenses.
