Keith StewartGUEST
1:44
That's now two weeks in a row as a runner up.
Keith StewartGUEST
1:47
Or if we're counting eight times this year on the PGA Tour, six more on the LPGA Tour.
Keith StewartGUEST
1:52
So 14 runner ups since we started in January.
Keith StewartGUEST
1:57
The trend is certainly not my friend.
Keith StewartGUEST
2:49
I mean, the logistics of all this, had this been sea Island or something, and there were a ton of flights going out of Savannah or Jacksonville or something, they certainly could have tried to pull this off, but being stuck out, you know, being so isolated in Bermuda and then needing to get over to the West coast of Mexico, that gave them a lot of challenges.
Keith StewartGUEST
3:06
And everyone's like, Oh, we'll play Tuesday.
Keith StewartGUEST
3:07
Well, the PGA tour has rules in place that they don't play a golf tournament past Monday.
Keith StewartGUEST
3:12
If they have a certain number of holes that they have not completed.
Craig GreenbergGUEST
51:47
We put on the full-court press, and we won that competition.
Craig GreenbergGUEST
51:53
You know, there are other events like Valhalla right now is working on getting another PGA championship here.
Craig GreenbergGUEST
51:58
That's that's proactive working with the PGA leadership to make that happen.
Craig GreenbergGUEST
52:03
And so stay tuned on that front.
Craig GreenbergGUEST
52:05
I'm cautiously optimistic.
Frank FasanoHOST

All right.

Does the future of live golf now hang in the balance of Bryson DeChambeau's decision? And what is that decision going to be? We've got even more news coming out of these bankruptcy filings, which we told you guys we would be watching closely, including a bombshell I want to get into a little bit later in the show about one of the PGA Tour's biggest stars.
Frank FasanoHOST
0:21
Was this close?
Mike FasanoHOST
0:22
So close.

7 MINS LATER

Mike FasanoHOST
7:20
But my, my big thing I keep coming back to, maybe I'll put this on you guys and put it in the comments.
Mike FasanoHOST
7:23
Cause you may know better than, than us is where are they going to find these other players to fill the field? Can they just go after some of these corn fairy guys who didn't make it? They didn't get their tour card, but they'd say, you know what? I finished outside the cut.
Mike FasanoHOST
7:35
I didn't make it to the PGA tour this year.
Mike FasanoHOST
7:36
I keep grinding.
Kelley BydlonHOST
15:28
It was like, man, he's still right there.
Gill AlexanderHOST
15:30
John Balducci said, do we have any idea how books are paying out for this PGA event? Can you explain what happened there?
Kelley BydlonHOST
15:35
Yeah, it was so, you know, in Bermuda.
Kelley BydlonHOST
15:38
Where's that located at again, Gil?
StugotzHOST
38:53
every bit the part.
StugotzHOST
38:55
If you saw Adam Thielen on a driving range, you would guess and say, hey, amongst tour players, and say, hey, guess which one of these guys plays on the PGA Tour, a lot of people would guess Adam Thielen.
StugotzHOST
39:06
That's what you're saying when you say he looks the part, right?
TaylorPANELIST
39:08
Yeah, so I'm surprised Adam Thielen wouldn't back me up on the fact that I don't think Marty Fish should be— eligible to go for a third championship at the American Century Championship? Yes.
StugotzHOST
60:26
bit the part.
StugotzHOST
60:27
If you saw Adam Thielen on a driving range, you would guess and say, hey, amongst tour players, and say, hey, guess which one of these guys plays on the PGA Tour, a lot of people would guess Adam Thielen.
StugotzHOST
60:38
That's what you're saying when you say he looks the part, right?
TaylorPANELIST
60:41
Yeah, so I'm surprised Adam Thielen wouldn't back me up on the fact that I don't think Marty Fish should be...
Ken StrodeHOST
45:46
Down there, yeah.
Ken StrodeHOST
45:47
That's why they put, I think they put like $12 million into this golf course just so they could get a PGA Tour.
Ken StrodeHOST
45:51
Are there a
Doug VaughnHOST
45:52
lot of people who live full-time on Bermuda or is it mostly tourists?
Jodi BalsamGUEST
32:44
Rejection of bankruptcy, as opposed to Sergio Garcia's true termination, rejection doesn't necessarily wipe the contract out.
Jodi BalsamGUEST
32:52
It leaves open whether some of the contract's restrictive terms survive, such as terms regarding Liv's exclusivity rights to the contracts to the player services, limits on dealing with other tours, Liv's right to use those players' name, image, and likeness, their celebrity in future promotional efforts, that might still bind the players and complicate returning to either the DP tour or the PGA tour.
Jodi BalsamGUEST
33:23
So if I were the players, what I would want more than anything at this point is a true termination, is the court's approval of an absolute exit that allows them safely to return to the other tours.
Jodi BalsamGUEST
33:39
Because at this point, at least what those tours are saying is that we're not discussing any future with you until your contracts have ended.
Jodi BalsamGUEST
36:39
They're stretching it out to see if their $4 million bet on tax losses generates any returns.
Jodi BalsamGUEST
36:46
There's no reason for them to cut the process short.
Jodi BalsamGUEST
36:50
And I think the only sort of real deadline is the deadlines for those golfers to re-engage with the DP World Tour and PGA Tour.
Jodi BalsamGUEST
37:01
I mean, once those deadlines approach and the golfers don't have any certainty as to the viability of Live 2.0, I think you drop off the cliff there and we head to liquidation.
DTGolfHOST
2:04
5th of November, I think it is.
DTGolfHOST
2:07
Which will be great to more... tournaments to go before we end that one and then we move on to the PGA Tour for the waste management I think the first big one is but especially for the Ryder Cup points anyway so we'll be excited to look at that the update for the Ryder Cup points is coming up later in the podcast so stay tuned for that but yeah what do you guys think we know golf's hard but when you're playing for your livelihood as your job it's got to be harder surely it's got to be erm I feel the pressure when I'm playing with my mates for a putt to win a tenner.
DTGolfHOST
2:44
So I can't imagine how it is for your livelihood and to be winning millions.
DTGolfHOST
2:51
People will say they get paid genuinely slightly.
Scotty StevensonHOST
63:31
Dan Hillier's, what, ninth now in the race to Dubai, is it?
Israel DaggHOST
63:35
Yeah, so he's got to get a top 10. he's got two more rounds left or two more tournaments and if he's able to just he doesn't have to win it but if he has to produce some nice results T11 on the weekend final round of five under good solid result I think he's fourth in the top 10 at the moment so if he continues that form he'll get his PGA Tour card so Dan Hillier well done continues a remarkable year started off in February and March in the New Zealand Open and he's had some formidable results in the past and Foxy T4th as well so there you go couple of Kiwis at DP World Tour
Scotty StevensonHOST
64:11
Pretty cool.
Scotty StevensonHOST
64:12
Could you guys please try to explain why they would put Samoa and Tonga on at 10pm on a Sunday? Ridiculous.
