Pepperidge Farm

That's leading with PR.

Our third example goes back much further, and I love this story because Pepperidge Farm started with a mother trying to solve a problem for her family.

Margaret Rudkin began baking bread at her family's Connecticut farm after her son developed food allergies.

She started experimenting with bread made from high-quality ingredients.

And the bi- and a business started growing.

But here's the part that matters for our conversation.

Pepperidge Farm didn't initially grow by pouring money into advertising.

Publicity and word of mouth helped build the brand.

It's on pace for its worst month going back to January of the year 2000.

Remember, it's not just Campbell's Soup, it's Pepperidge Farm, it's Goldfish.

Uh, it's been one of the worst performers among consumer staples, uh, S&P 600 this year.

Um, earlier this week, it had its debt rating cut at Moody's, as it expects further declines in revenue and operating profit in fiscal 2027 as the company tries to execute its turnaround plan.

Uh, there were lots of...

Actually Pepperidge Farm was a big in the-

Pepperidge Farm.

Yes.

Yes.

It's the Latino Festival.

And, of course, it's brought to you by the Cache Valley Media Group and some other great sponsors, including Anderson Seed and Garden, Presto Products, Connect Public Transit, and Pepperidge Farm.

And I'm Will Fiorite with your KVNU Local Headlines.

With lack of fruit tree production, Logan Extermination can actually trim your fruit trees earlier, giving them the care they need before winter sets in.

We have those manufacturers.

During COVID, we needed Pepperidge Farm and JBS and West Point Dairy and Schreiber Cheese and Gosner.

They needed to stay open.

And our economy, they figured it out.
