Pelagic Records

The Ocean is the German post-metal collective that is also...

the owners, I guess, of Pelagic Records.

If you know anything about post-metal, then obviously you're very familiar with this band.

This is their 12th album.

Today we welcome Hippotractor guitarist Cioran Veridan to the podcast.

Hippotractor released Annihilus last week on Pelagic Records.

Cioran talks about the influences that led to him starting Hippotractor, the origins of the story Hippotractor has been telling on each record, taking a different approach to writing Annihilus, the visual aesthetic of the band, and a lot more.

I've been a huge Hippotractor fan through each release.

Today we welcome Kai Zamora and Drew Storcks from Shiloh to the podcast.

Shiloh will release Purity Spiral on Friday, October 16th with Pelagic Records.

The guys talk about their musical backgrounds and joining Shiloh, getting in a room together to write music, the ways in which they theme their songs and albums, the intricacies of the album artwork on Purity Spiral, and a lot more.

Thanks so much for listening to this episode of As The Story Grows.

remember drinking like 15 bottles of water and not using the bathroom, like just sweating everything out.

Yeah.

For this review, Duncan and I have been checking out the new album from Belgian progressive metal titans, Hippotractor.

The band's new album, Annihilist, will be released on October 2nd via Pelagic Records.

Since emerging from Michelin Somewhere in Belgium Hippotractor Has steadily carved out A singular artistic identity Guided by an enduring commitment To exploration This is a Lisa PR isn't it I think it might be,

actually.

It's ridiculous.

So, Duncan.

Dave has just read out for about two minutes there words from PR and I'm going to say if you're working for Pelagic Records right now and you're checking this out worth every penny by the way for two reasons one the words are great and two it's great watching Dave like scan through it and you can see the bits where his eyes start to widen slightly where he's like oh fuck what's that mean it's an endless joy for me

That is done now, Duncan.

A lot of bands wouldn't have recovered.

I was sitting there going, what year is it? What day is it? Are my family still here? It's just so engrossing and so absorbing.

And it's all in the...

This could only be out on Pelagic Records, but we'll get to that in a second.

It's all aided by songwriters who are now at the top of their game.

If you've been in the ocean this long, you're as comfy as you're going to get with what it is you can do and what you can't do.
