Pathmark

He goes through the classified ads in a Polish language newspaper and he goes in person to a Polish employment agency in Brooklyn.

They have something for him that very night, a shift cleaning and waxing floors at a Pathmark supermarket.

It's like 10 bucks an hour, almost double minimum wage, which was 515 at the time.

That's another story.

I remember I have memories growing up.

I grew up on Long Island, and there was a drugstore called Pathmark on Long Island, and that's where our Ticketmaster outlet was.

And I remember it would be, I don't know, I'm going to get the days of the week wrong, but let's say on a Thursday in the back of the newspaper, the Jones Beach... lineup for the summer would be posted or printed.

And then on Saturday, the tickets went on sale.

So you would get up early, like 7am or whatever.

And then you would, everyone would go to Pathmark.

I would see all my friends from school at Pathmark.

My parents would see their friends at that time.

It was an adventure for everyone.

We would hang out at Pathmark.

Yeah.

We would go to fucking Pathmark-

... and sit and just hang out.

I am being truthful.

It's not going to be like Pathmark or something when I was little.

It's definitely not one of the other insurance agencies.

Actually, Mogul was, out of insurance agency-wise, Mogul was my best job insurance agency-wise.

I am being expected to provide a skill set in exchange for US dollars."

Hey, Andy, if you stock the shelves faster at Pathmark, I won't pull out my ding-dong.

And now there you have it.

That's what gets people to work.

So I was making an average of $75 a day selling cookies.

And I used to go to a supermarket called Pathmark.

That's where I was buying the ingredients.

So I used to buy the flour, the chocolate, the chocolate chips, the butter, the oil, and I had like a, um, different, um, pans that would bake the cookies inside.

So totally, I've never had a construction style or been on a construction site before.

Like all the other jobs, I was at Pathmark.

I was a waiter, worked at UPS.

But the kind of like the freedom that you got to kind of learn and interact with other people on the job site and just, you know, like the boss kind of sets you up.
