So then, y- Jimmy even said before the season, he said the Beavers then will be good quarterback play, in his opinion.

If the Beavers can get good, solid play at quarterback, and this is before the Beavers had opened the year at Houston, Jimmy was on the show saying that, then he thinks the Beavers have a chance to be in every one of their remaining games on the schedule, to be in them.

Well, uh, I remember during the course of that first game at Houston, Jim and I both, during some of the early timeouts, and neither of us had had the opportunity to see a lot of the stuff that had gone on in practice.

And we were both going, "Hmm, wow, that, that's good," and then some near misses on big hits and chunk play opportunities that just missed down there.

Jimmy that day said, "The Beavers are close right now, Mike.

I mean, they're really close right now to hitting some big, big stuff." And we were both coming away from Houston Thinking what, uh, Mitch Dahlin said to me when I trotted out that national and local notion that, hey, your season doesn't really begin until you, until the competition ratchets down a little bit, right? You, you just, you know, you're not, you don't have a chance against Houston or Texas Tech, but play reasonably well creditably and then go from there.

Now, I didn't say to Mitch, "Now you guys are gonna be 0-2," but I did trot out the, "Hey, after those first couple of games," Mitch and, you know, getting guys ramped up and better and some experience and some important reps, "do you feel like the rest of the schedule provides a lot of opportunities for wins?" Is kinda how I, I phrased it in an off the record sitting down in his office conversation.

And so I just want Beaver Nation, thinking about next week, you know, I checked ticket prices.

Half their team is going to have the mumps, so they won't even be able to travel.

And as I sit here alone in the room, I won't be for much longer in that A.C. Fralick, outside hitter coming off an incredible match against Washington State in what goes down in history as the first victory in a new Pac-12 event in the new Pac-12 world for Oregon State Athletics.

In a Pac-12 match, the Beavers over Washington State in a classic before 1,600 fans, the biggest crowd in a couple of years.

A.C. Fralick, just ahead of a team lift, will come into this very room A little bit later in the hour, around 1230, and we'll visit with her for a few minutes.

and their AI faculty.

And, you know, of course, Jensen Huang and his wife are Beavers.

They're alums of Oregon State.

So they're contributing philanthropic dollars to OSU to help them improve their engineering programs and that kind of thing.

The university said Wednesday it plans to build a third building somewhere near the existing facilities, aiming to begin construction within the next two years.

So that's exciting for the Ducks.

As I said, the Beavers already have a well-established program.

I don't know.

You kind of got to keep it in.

Obviously, they were at Oregon last year, and they kind of let it get away from early.

You got to stay in this game until halftime.

You got to believe you had a chance in that second half to go pull off the upset.

Yeah, I understand that.

Let's get Beaver Nation together with that sense of momentum that we've all been feeling and the excitement that Joe Marcus' program has generated.

There will be a way to kind of keep building that for Beaver Nation to come together Saturday in downtown Portland, Portland's living room, as Pioneer Courthouse Square is described.

You can gather and watch the game with Beaver Nation on the big screen.
