We've recovered a bit from that thanks to recent rainfall, but Orange County was also able to avoid any water restrictions through the worst of the drought, thanks in part to OWASA's reclaimed water system, which has saved the county billions of gallons of drinking water over the last 17 years.

Although one of eight North Carolina counties to have the D4 drought classification in July, Orange County didn't undergo any water restrictions during that period.
