Oral Roberts University

Yeah.

And as a senior in high school, I said to God one day, because, uh, others were wanting me to go to a certain university, and I said, "God, where do I go to school?" And as though a person standing by me said, "Go to Oral Roberts University." Amen.

Hallelujah.

And so I went downstairs and I told my mother, I said, "God said to me to go to Oral Roberts University." She said, "You're not going." She said, uh, no, I, n- I didn't say God said.

I said, "I want to go to Oral Roberts University." She said, "You're not going.

It costs too much money.

We can't afford that." But I didn't know that within a few months that I was gonna have full scholarship to the, to the university of my choice.

And so I got saved two years later.

so I received the call of God at the age of 15 at that camp, and God called me.

Some things, actually, my older brother was on missions with Oral Roberts University in Brazil for over a month, and I was Team Brazil, and then God spoke to me in that moment at the age of 15 that I'd go minister in Brazil one day.

and then it was in that moment that God just called me, and I knew I was called.

I began at the age of 15 as a children's pastor and then youth pastor, and the ministry just grew from there.

Uh, kind of weird if you think about it.

ORU is in Tulsa, so it's just like a two-hour drive over, but they're gonna overshoot Fayetteville and go down to North Little Rock to play that game.

Um, okay, fine.

Yeah, [laughs] whatever you want to do.

And then in the late 80s, he eventually found God and became really passionate about wanting to spread the word.

He and his wife went to Oral Roberts University, and that's in Tulsa.

Oral Roberts did so well teaching us that medical science and divine healing are not opposed.

He's got the big hands together at the entrance of Oral Roberts University.

And they blend together.

And you add the spiritual to the physical.

So before we would go to church though, we'd watch two programs on TV.

We would watch Oral Roberts, and that was one of the things that inspired me to go to Oral Roberts University because at the beginning of the program, they did a flyover of the campus, and then the letters would come up, Oral Roberts and you, and then Oral Roberts would preach.

And I'd see that campus, and eventually I thought, "I wanna go there.

I need to go there." The Lord was drawing me there.
