Like, I mean, they are, they are very political.

They are statements of, of fact and statements of, you know, uh, Mark Knopfler's sort of witnessing of society and his opinion of it.

I think I was reading, too, a little bit.

What are your thoughts? Yeah, that it was also like the common confessions, right, of somebody who feels guilt, who's been in war, who maybe wasn't actually a war criminal, right, who feels awful about what they've done, the destructiveness, right? Right, right.

Then we get into talking about One World, right? The song One World, which, you know, that one, you know, Mark Knopfler really is questioning humanity in this one, right? So looking at how superficial our world is, right? Why can't we seem to find a way to live in harmony, right? As one world, right? So, I mean, I love how he like just takes all of these themes and just kind of intertwines them, right? It's just, it's really, it's really cool how he does that.

With his writing style, for sure.

And this is where we get into the world of loyalty program partnerships or airline alliances.

So Star Alliance, SkyTeam, and OneWorld are the three biggest international airline alliances in the world.

And each of them has several different airlines inside of their programs.

I won't list them all, But some of the big names that you've probably heard in Star Alliance are United, Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa, ANA, and Air Canada.

Some of the big names in SkyTeam are Delta, Air France, KLM Flying Blue, Korean Air, and Virgin Atlantic.

And then in OneWorld, you've got American, Qatar, British Airways, Japan, and Alaska, which now includes Hawaiian as well.

Whenever you search for a paid flight directly with an airline, you'll usually see mostly flights operated by that airline, and you'll probably see a few routes where maybe one leg is flown by the airline whose website you're searching in, but then other legs of the flight, other connections, are flown by a different airline.

That's because those airlines are partners, and it's advantageous, let's say, to both Delta and KLM for someone to be able to go to delta.com or to KLM's website and make one single booking from Atlanta to Amsterdam to Venice, where the first leg is on Delta and the second leg is on KLM.

The second airline where we tend to consistently find great sweet spots for our client bookings is with Cathay Pacific, and this isn't necessarily just for finding flights over to Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific's own metal.

Because Cathay Pacific is in the Oneworld alliance, we actually find a lot of great deals on British Airways planes booked through Cathay Pacific.

For example, our client Karen, we booked her flights from IAD through London into Glasgow on British Airways business class.

They needed two tickets, and we didn't book it through British Airways or American Airlines, which are the normal ways to book this, because the taxes and fees are so high if you do that.

We missed one from Madrid to Lima a few years back.

But we are now in the One World Alliance, so we turn up nice and early.

What the

fuck's One World Alliance? That genuinely sounds like something Ousey would believe in his internet.

So there's levels and layers to this strategy and that's a very advanced move, but it's something that anyone listening to this show can do as they learn over time just by understanding the points and miles world.
