Oliver Typewriter Company

Woodstock right now because we are celebrating the Woodstock typewriter trail.

130 years ago the Oliver typewriter company moved to Woodstock and sort of started this city's legacy as the place that once produced half of the world's typewriters.

So we're doing an interactive trail.

It's free.

So the library kind of became this little museum exhibit.

And it's really cool.

If you haven't been over there, there's also some boards that give information about the legacy of the Oliver Typewriter Company and how a minister from Iowa came to invent this pretty revolutionary machine that allowed you to see what you were typing while you typed it.

So the library has this exhibit that kind of walks you through the story of you know, the beginning of the city's legacy as typewriter city.
