Oh, Off-White's actually gone down.

Yeah, that's interesting.

I have an Off-White wallet listed right now, and it's been listed for four or five months.

No one's touched it.

Interesting.

And Rodart? Rodart? I don't know how to say it.

It's up 24%.

It needed to be niche, but it still needed to appeal to a lot of people, and guys became more interested in fashion in the last 15 years, and it drove home that sort of menswear obsessive.

If you, if you're into fashion, if you love Bodie, if you love Off-White, you're gonna read GQ because it's all about fashion, and it doesn't matter what your gender is.

And I, I think Will did a great job.

The people who worked there became famous.

That's a perfect example of that.

The back graphic is kind of off-white adjacent.

If anyone is familiar with the Virgil Abloh streetwear brand Off-White, that is now a part of some big streetwear conglomerate and is not very relevant anymore.

The insignia on the back, the, I don't know what you call it.

So almost like caution tape, you know, that graphic.

And sneakers could have become, you know, your playground, actually your canvas, because actually you could have expressed your creativity on a sneaker, like we were doing on our diary in the 90s.

So in the end, what I really understood probably before anyone else is that sneakers would it be the perfect category to make you feel the brand and not wear the brand? Try to think about Virgil with Off-White.

You always felt part of that amazing revolution.

You were not wearing Off-White.

It was much more than that, right? And Virgil was a

prophet.

He was essentially saying you can still be high-end and rebellious at the same time.

And then the next decade saw designers like Off-White merging streetwear and punk, creating collabs with skate shops, a direct line back to how punk intersected with other countercultures from the start.

Remember how punk’s aesthetic was tied to music venues.

Bands would often wear outfits that matched their sound.

First signal.

Ibn Kamara is out at Off-White, and the Met has officially cancelled its Galliano exhibition.

Two significant institutional fashion decisions in a single week.

The pattern here is not controversy for its own sake.
