Oakland Roots against Phoenix Rising.

Just the worst game of football I've ever watched until last weekend and probably until this weekend, just the continuous cycle.

There is literally not a single positive you can take from this game in any facet of the pitch anywhere.

So there is a realistic chance that Rising comes out of this weekend, may not be mathematically eliminated, but realistically could be facing a scenario whereby their maximum points haul is actually the points total of the teams currently in 7th and 8th, with one of those teams owning the tiebreaker already over Phoenix Rising.

Yeah, so scary times.

Number, or in 10th place, Oakland Roots, 34 points.

And so we really wanted it to be in Oakland specifically.

The Oakland Roots was so successful when being in Oakland.

Dylan and Max both played for them, so Oakland was really, like, this spot.

At the same time, we really [laughs] didn't know what we were doing, and so we leaned on a lot of our support systems.

And if you look at the table, they're both on 27 matches played, so Las Vegas now two points behind San Antonio.

Oakland, four points behind San Antonio.

San Antonio's next match is against Oakland.

Phoenix Rising, we'll talk in a second about Phoenix a little bit later, but yeah, it's crazy.

Back to, back to it now.

And Detroit limited the visitors here to just five shots, their lowest total of the season, and protect the lead through the final whistle.

Carlos Herrera recorded his league-leading 13th clean sheet of the season and also made his 200th career save early on in the second half, so what a way to celebrate, uh, the victory there.

Then we have to go to El Paso the following Saturday, the 17th.

And then rounding out the season, Oakland Roots SC, um, at home, uh, at Heart Health Park.

So, um, you know, are...

yeah yeah yeah that's it but tell me i know you said that you know, you don't really have a strong team that you're following in the US, but what about near where you live currently or where you're from or something like that? Like, is there a noticeable USL team on the rise? I'm very interested in the USL.

Yeah, so the USL, you know, the team that would be in my area would be a club called the Oakland Roots.

And interestingly, I founded that club with... a couple other people maybe now

well

And so I did that, and that club, like many American clubs, didn't make it after one season.

I'd come back a little bit earlier in that year, but kind of said, all right, I'm going to stay here and just figure it out.

And so that was what led to the creation of the Oakland Roots, which was a multi-year process to build it and kind of get the community foundation set up where there was people locally that knew about it, that were excited about it, raising capital at the same time.

But then dealing with the league infrastructure, which was very challenging.

And then we talk about the teams on thin ice.

Some Indy 11 versus Miami, Oakland versus Phoenix, we could add to it.

And we also had some really good encounters throughout the championship.
