Niagara University launched its School of Cybersecurity on August 25th.

This new program was released within the Holschuh College of Business and is designed to broadcast, to rather broaden students' understanding of how emerging technologies affect business, strategy, operations, and making ethical decisions.

Students and administration gathered for the occasion.

The event opened with the Reverend Anish Mathew, CM EDD, leading a prayer that recalled Pope Leo XIV's audience about technology and artificial intelligence.

Following the prayer, the President of Niagara, the Reverend James J. Maher, CM, thanked the administration and leadership for supporting the new program.

The Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University, abbreviation CAM, in collaboration with the Lewiston Council on the Arts, LCA, invites the community to step back in time with Niagara Follies, Music from the CAM Collection, from 6.30 to 8.30 p.m. on Thursday, September 24th, Presented as part of the museum's CAM Meets series, this one-of-a-kind performance blends music, dance, history, and storytelling to celebrate the rich cultural history of Niagara Falls through the popular entertainment of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Inspired by historic sheet music preserved in the museum's renowned Charles Rand Penny collection of historic prints, the evening will feature live performances of Table Rock Shaddish, that's dated in 1852, by John Cook, and a trip to Niagara, March and Two Step, dated 1908 by William J. Cornish, alongside other Niagara-themed compositions, including the lively Cataract Gallop from 1868.

Audiences will also enjoy favorites from the era, from Stephen Foster classics and barbershop harmonies to ragtime melodies and the Charleston, creating an entertaining glimpse into the music that once filled parlors, theaters, and gathering places across America.

Adding to the immersive experience, dancers Evelyn Glenn and partner will perform period-inspired choreography, while costumes presented and provided through Niagara University's Department of Theater will help transport audiences to another era.

For as long as I've worked with the Charles Rand Penny Collection, I've wanted to hear the sheet music in our collection performed live, said Mary Helen Miscouli, registrar at the Castellani Art Museum.

These pieces were meant to be experienced, not simply preserved on paper.

Sister Betty Ann earned a bachelor's degree in social welfare from St. Joseph College in Emmitsburg, Maryland, and a master of social work from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Niagara University awarded her an honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters.

Sister Betty Ann served children, young mothers, immigrants, and refugees in a variety of social work roles prior to her appointment as a provincial archivist for the Daughters of Charity, province of Emmitsburg.

She was the editor of the book, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, A Spiritual Portrait from Ignatius Press and published last year.
